ADP National Employment Report: Private Sector Employment Increased by 63,000 Jobs in February; Annual Pay was Up 4.5%

Private sector employment increased by 63,000 jobs in February and pay was up 4.5 percent year-over-year according to the February ADP National Employment ReportĀ® produced by ADP Research in collaboration with the Stanford Digital Economy Lab ("Stanford Lab").

The ADP National Employment Report is an independent measure of the labor market based on the anonymized weekly payroll data of more than 26 million private-sector employees in the United States. ADP's Pay Insights captures over 15 million individual pay change observations each month. Together, the jobs report and pay insights use ADP's fine-grained data to provide a representative and high-frequency picture of the private-sector labor market.

"We've seen an increase in hiring and pay gains remain solid, especially for job-stayers," said Dr. Nela Richardson, chief economist, ADP. "But with hiring concentrated in only a few sectors, our data shows no widespread pay benefit from changing jobs. In fact, the pay premium for switching employers hit a record low in February."

This is sharply at odds with the government number released today. It shows a loss of 92,000 jobs.

“pay was up 4.5 percent year-over-year “

BS. No raise in 4 years while receiving excellent reviews. And new jobs inquiries I get show salary below what I make now for my skill level and tenure.

Not when you look at the numbers.

Yes and the Fed uses the labor dept statistics to issue monetary policy based on lies. The ADP numbers are the real numbers. And the Fed shouldn’t be a jobs program. Time to eliminate the Fed. Trumper start printing money.

What’s BS is using one input (you) to decide something that has millions of inputs.

Yes, as an outsider looking in I am always curious what the state of affairs are in the US economy. I do know and I realize this is anecdotal but my Canadian family when visiting our US relatives feel like Haitians. We just can’t throw around money like they seem to do. They make around twice as much as us.

Same, in a competitive very good paying field and know a ton of qualified men who have been out fo work for longer than anytime since the late 00’s and H1bs seem to be the only job growth
