U.S. Sen. John Cornyn said Thursday that Republicans need to find an alternative to former President Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential election, saying the party needs "a candidate who can actually win."
"I think President Trump’s time has passed him by," Cornyn said when asked about the 2024 Republican presidential primary, which is still taking shape. "I don’t think President Trump understands that when you run in a general election, you have to appeal to voters beyond your base."

I can’t imagine DJT endorsing this RINO.
This should end any possibility of President Trump endorsing him, but you never know with Trump.
Cornyn failed to win his primary, despite being an incumbent. The final vote was 42-41-12. Now the top 2 have a runoff in the last week of May, Paxton vs Cornyn. Hopefully Cornyn gets handed his walking papers.
Cornyn is a good conservative and consistent and reliable vote.
Paxton is a crook, a cheater, a liar, and just plane weird.
There is only one chance of us losing the Senate race, and it would be if Paxton was the nominee.
This is why Trump can’t endorse this guy. The Democrat campaign will be constant ads like this to drive a wedge between Cornyn and the MAGA base. And, it will be effective.

Trump has destroyed one of the longest terrorist supporting regimes in history... From 1979 until this week they wreaked havoc on the world and on Israel in particular... That havoc has now come to an end and their most hated enemy... The state of Israel was the key to their demise.
Can Israel rest easy? Not at all... Can they sleep a little bit better at night... Absolutely!
I call that sweet justice and that justice was delivered by Trump. This will likely be his greatest achievement ever!

Soon he will likely join EyePatch McCain, living in the fantasy world where Democrats are good people, but slightly misguided.
I guess they can join Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor as lobbyists on K-Street, but if MAGA really does take hold in DC, they won’t find many Republicans interested in their brand of ‘comity’ with the Democrats.
Reports are that he’s endorsing Cornyn to get Thune to pass the SAVE Act.
The problem is that dealing with RINOs like Thune is like dealing with the Soviets. Never expect them to do anything they agree to.
So says the desiccated remains of a political dilution.
And outspending Paxton 17-1 ($70 million to $4 million.)
Call Rep. Hunt and ask him to endorse Paxton.
