New York City is expecting something like two feet of snow, and the city’s government, led by socialist/Communist Zohran Mamdani, is encouraging able-bodied New Yorkers to help shovel the city out after the storm. But only, of course, if they have proper identification:
Lefty Mayor Zohran Mamdani opposes requiring ID’s to vote — but mandates no less than five forms of identification in order to shovel snow.
The New York City Sanitation Department website says that in order to register as an emergency snow shoveler, an applicant must provide two small photos sized 1-1.5 square inches, two original forms of ID plus copies, and their social security card.
Mamdani called on New Yorkers to sign up to become emergency snow shovelers Saturday, telling them to show up to a local sanitation garage with the reams of required paperwork.
“For those who want to do more to help your neighbors and earn some extra cash, you too can become an emergency snow shoveler. Just show up at your local sanitation garage… with your paperwork which is accessible online,” Hizzoner said at a presser Saturday.
You need an ID to do pretty much everything except vote. And it is the Left that is generally most eager to make sure your papers are in order. In that context, the fact that the Democratic Party will go to the wall rather than allow identification to be required for voting, despite 75% to 85% public support for voter ID, makes it obvious that voter fraud is a significant element in the Democrats’ electoral strategy. (emphasis added)

Forget the license. Mamdani wants volunteers to shovel snow. In the past, New York City had no problem getting rid of snow after a storm. The city did not need volunteers. But now that the city is a Communist Utopia, all the comrades are going to join together to do the work that the city is too incompetent to do. Pay 50% of your income in taxes and then do the basic city services yourself. Ain’t Communism grand!!!

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani intends to bill the U.S. taxpayers, via the Federal Government, for the New York City snow removal after New York Governor Hochul declares a state of emergency, and FEMA won't reimburse New York City without the exact identity of everyone whose hours are invoiced.

Shoveling the sidewalks is hazardous activity in NYC these days. I just saw a video off all the animal and, uh, human poop on the sidewalks and streets. Its disgusting.
I don’t believe NYC is exempt from I-9 requirements, nor should it be.

That’s probably one for an ID card and one for the records.
The ID card enables a supervisor to personally know who you are, that you are doing X hours work, and that it was you doing the work.
Make it easy to vote and sign up for government assistance and make it hard to get work. Typical Democrat/Socialist/Communist way of doing things while in the undermining stage of destroying the current system. Once total power has been achieved you will exert maximum effort while receiving minimal compensation. There was no freeloading in the USSR.
Just tell him you run a fake daycare in Minneapolis and frequently contribute to Dem candidates; that should be enough ID.
Trump should deny NYC the funds.
This is the same NYC that has been wasting money paying for migrants to the tune of about 5 billion per year.
And I bet that the $20 per hour labor will be marked up to over $100 for FEMA reimbursement.
