Tom Workman, a retired superintendent of Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego, summarizes the situation more pointedly, calling the border enforcement agencies of today “a police state” made up of “poorly trained policing goons” who are hired with very little vetting.
Where were these folks during the Biden years when the floods of illegals were leaving mountains of garbage ad dead bodies along the border.

All compromised and in the pocket of the cartels.

"...It was a cool, breezy morning in early December when Myles Traphagen, the borderlands program coordinator for the conservation nonprofit Wildlands Network, joined a handful of people atop Coronado Peak in Arizona..."

And there you have it, in the first paragraph.

The entire article is a snarky anti Trump tirade that boils down to laughable complaints against the construction of the border wall to protect this nation.

They should go to the border south of San Diego. Tijuana has been running millions of gallons of raw sewage across the border and into the ocean on the US side. Trump is finally taking action

Trump admin dynamites national park site as part of immigration crackdown

An efficient labor saving method to build a firm foundation under the border fence.

Considerably less invasive than heavy tracked excavators emitting burnt diesel smoke.

Winner all around.

““a police state” made up of “poorly trained policing goons” who are hired with very little vetting.”

In other words, just what we need given the Left’s lawlessness.

Of course, the headline is intended to make it sound like Trump is blowing up a national park, whereas this is simply construction of the border wall.

“””””more than one-third of the southern border — including the southern termini of the world-famous Continental Divide and Pacific Crest trails and other areas once open to recreators — is now closed to members of the public, who can find themselves facing federal charges should they unwittingly trespass.”””””

I think that is false, the monument starting or beginning point is still there and fully open.

Yeah written by a woman. “It was a cool breezy morning atop a chilly mountain peak as Miles Trophagen stroked his chin, 3 days of gritty stubble giving a shadowy look to his rugged face. “Dirty ICE agents”, he mused, “they have no education or experience in land management, raping this wilderness for their ideal of a perpetually white culture.”

which he has attempted to rename the Department of War.

In and out of Ft Huachuca most of my military life. Been to all the canyons out there multiple times, and routinely took the children to Ramsey Overlook and Miller Peak. The area they are blasting doesn't matter a hill of beans. Their problem is they didn't get their piece of grift for an environemental of historical 'assessments'.

It does say National Park but it also says National Monument. The difference is that a National Park is designated by Congress and a National Monument is designated by the President on Federal land. Bill Clinton designated a large part of Utah as a National Monument to keep energy companies from mining coal there. President Trump can order it to not be a National Monument any time he thinks it’s necessary.
