Super Bowl halftime has devolved into a stale Roman bacchanal—gaudy, raunchy, and empty—leaving millions bored, alienated, and wondering who the spectacle is even for anymore.
In recent years, Americans have known what to expect from our Neronian Super Bowl halftime shows: mediocre music veneered over with gaudy, flashily lit, but ultimately empty and meaningless sets.
As seen again this year, the usual array of supporting dancers twerk and simulate intercourse, in sync with the main singer, mindlessly grabbing his/her genitals—apparently to highlight the explicit sexual allusions of mostly nonsensical lyrics.
For some strange reason, this Roman orgiastic ritual is supposedly designed by the NFL each year to appeal to American families of all ages as they gather together around the living room TV on their festive cultural holiday.
But the script has now grown predictable and trite. This year’s mess jumped the shark and had a force-multiplying boring effect on one of the most tedious Super Bowl games in history.
The decision to have Bad Bunny as the main attraction to sing solely in Spanish—only 14 percent of the U.S. population is fluent in Spanish, while 90 percent is proficient in English—was apparently designed to grow the NFL’s global audience, particularly in the Western Hemisphere, or perhaps to shock America to get accustomed to its new official multilingual identity.
Yet of the anticipated 60 million Americans who likely watched this flat show, more than 50 million of them could neither read nor comprehend Spanish. And they had previously been insulted by Bunny to hurry up and learn Spanish before the game—or else?
How odd that America provides translations of every conceivable language in its courts, hospitals, and schools for minorities of non-English-speaking residents. And yet at its annual signature sporting event, the marquee and main-event non-English speaker would not

I watched maybe 30 seconds and switched channels. If this was aimed to entertain our youth, then the US is in deep trouble.

The half time show was wrong because of its extreme moral turpitude.
But on a gambling level, the GAME was FIXED.
The Patriots who are known and CONVICTED cheaters CHEATED once again.
If Drake Maye’s shoulder was bad enough to get shot up, then his injury should have been noted on the injury report.
So who did the Patriots cheat this time?
Ironically, I assume a lot of their own loyal fans who took the Pats + 4.5 points.
Any seasoned gambler who knew Maye was getting a shot would have gladly laid 4.5 points and taken the Broncos.
What was the legitimate line if the extent of Maye’s shoulder was known?
It would easily have been over a touchdown.
Whose interest was it in to have the line at under a touchdown.
I’d say the NFL, the same folk that green lighted the perverse half time show.
A more than TD line might have tamped down some hype and lessened interest in the game.
Roger “the Dodger” Goodell and has his prison football league are ROTTEN to the core on so many levels.
Even politics aside, with all the great stars out there it’s pretty disgusting that they throw this nothing at us.
I saw a little rerun of the Bad Bunny crapfest. Won’t even tune that station if he’s on another time. No wonder Puerto Rico is not a state.

As usual we skipped the game but made it a point to watch Turning Point’s show.
I’m not a fan of Kid Rock’s music, but he is a great entertainer. The end where he shared the clear Gospel was stunning.
If the NFL had any wisdom at all, they would fire Jay Z and hire Turning Point to manage the halftime show next year.

Didn’t watch a bit of it.
We took my granddaughter to the park - which was blissfully empty on a Sunday and had a wonderful time (there were 7 of us with kids/grandkids).
I did later call up the You Tube video of the “All American” 1/2 time show - to watch and upvote it.
Absolutely disgusting - that this went on - all in a foreign language - during one of America’s great entertainment pastimes.
Problem is, the organization has let Jay-Z run the 1/2 time shows since 2019 and this is what we’re getting.
