As part of its efforts to expand its physical presence around the U.S., Immigration and Customs Enforcement is reportedly leasing space at an office park in Irvine and at the federal building in Santa Ana.
As first reported by Wired, ICE is moving into offices on the 2000 block of Main Street in Irvine, a larger building part of an office complex near a child care center, an Equinox gym and John Wayne Airport.
“This is news to me,” Irvine Mayor Larry Agran said.
“We try to maintain some channels of communication with Border Patrol, with ICE, with Homeland Security,” Agran said. “It’s not easy to do. They’re not very cooperative at all, and (not) letting us know what they’re planning, what their activities consist of.”
A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE, did not respond to requests for comment.
An inventory of owned and leased property maintained by the U.S. General Services Administration, which oversees federal property, shows a lease on the 2000 block of Main Street, but it does not list which agency is utilizing it or for how long the lease is in effect.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE, would not confirm office locations, citing “a coordinated campaign of violence” against ICE personnel.
“Is it really news that when a federal agency hires more personnel that they need more space? Thanks to the Big Beautiful Bill, we have an additional 12,000 ICE officers and agents on the ground across the country,” a spokesperson said in an emailed statement. “That’s a 120% increase in our workforce.”
The offices, Wired reported, will be utilized by attorneys and street-level ICE agents. ...

Is that area of SoCal still somewhat conservative?
Bob Dornan’s old district, right?
Bob Dornan, a Republican known as “B-1 Bob,” primarily represented California districts in the U.S. House of Representatives, most notably the 46th District in Orange County (1993–1997). He previously represented the 38th District (1985–1993) in central Orange County and the 27th District in1, 2, 6} western Los Angeles County (1977–1983).

Mayor Bass, LA, just signed an order that ICE can’t use city property for staging. How about city streets?
And I think she has s fine for private property owners who let ICE use their property.
Not sure of this, a quick TV blurb, but that’s what it sounded like.
The might/should rent out the whole building and put a fence around it or even a moat.
Real estate agent convinced them after they saw the view. Also close to golf course.
Hope they kick some tail in good ol’ California.
“”Wonderful news! More ICE please!””
That man is STILL mayor or Irvine - or AGAIN? We moved from Irvine and out of CA 20 years ago...He’s also an attorney, isn’t he? Doesn’t say much about the voters in Irvine. Different when we were there. When a friend there was praising Hillary when she ran for president, I knew it was over!
Does he not know there are other things in life besides being a perpetual candidate for mayor? Why doesn’t he broaden his horizons and run for Governor? May as well join the other kooks!
Clean California!!
The dismaying fact that Mayor Karen Bass was not run out of office for her mishandling of the fires last year means a lot of bad things are being allowed. That’s a bad sign for those who want us good people to remain sweet natured and kind.
By the Law of Compensation (Ralph Waldo Emerson essay) we are owed a lot.
The should just take over the office space of all the California Cops. They aren’t using it.
Those areas are full to the brim with illegal latinos.

Probably because it’s none of your business.
Ground zero for the massive voter fraud we see today. They blatantly stole the election from him and the Republicans refused to back him. It was game on from there.
Ha haaaaaas! Right in Karen Bass Turd’s back door.
~~mayor or Irvine~~ WHOOPS - OF Irvine...
NONE OF HIS BUSINESS.
NONE OF THE LOCAL DRUG DEALERS GET THEIR MARCHING ORDERS FROM THE MAYOR, DO THEY? OR DO THEY?
ANOTHER WAY FOR BASS TO BE TOTALLY OUT OF LINE.
Post 18 USC sec3 on the front door
NOPE most of OC has gone left especially south OC
