A powerful Democratic committee that will determine which states hold the party’s first nominating contests in the 2028 presidential race voted Saturday to advance 12 states that had applied to hold the first in the nation contests.
Iowa had traditionally held the first caucuses, and New Hampshire has long relished its status as the first-in-the-nation primary. But in 2024, Joe Biden’s allies pressed the Democratic Party to move up South Carolina’s primary ahead of New Hampshire to highlight his strength among Black voters.
After steep losses in the 2024 general election, party leaders have said they are ready to completely rethink the early-state lineup. On Saturday, Democrats advanced the 12 states that applied to hold the first nominating contests: Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
Over the course of this year, the members of the Democratic National Committee’s Rules and Bylaws Committee will winnow that list to four states — one from each geographic region. The committee is also expected to choose one additional state to hold its contest in the early window.
The states that want to be in the early lineup were required to prove their fairness, rigor and efficiency, said Rules and Bylaws Committee Co-Chair Minyon Moore. The intent is to craft “a calendar that produces the strongest possible Democratic nominee for president,” she said Saturday.
Party representatives from the 12 states will be invited at a future date to present their arguments to members of the Rules and Bylaws Committee.

Great let them nominate the most radical person.
But in 2020 they really didn’t have a primary. They anointed Kamala.
Meanwhile, the UN and their ilk are trying to get around opposition in the US by going local, as Soros has long done:
DC! DC! DC!
Going by 2020, the DNC will select one of the following states—Nevada, South Carolina or New Mexico.
They're not going to do Iowa or NH, harder to manipulate the primary there—they'll end up with somebody more like Bernie Sanders or Howard Dean. They don't want that.
“Bernie Sanders or Howard Dean. They don’t want that.”
I disagree. I think Dems nominate the most radical progressive that is available knowing they can depend on TRUMP HATE to deliver the vote no matter what people know.
That's due to the overton window shifting, Bernie Sanders is now more old school. And apparently he was not liked by the DNC.
Does it matter since they rig their elections?
The last candidate did not even win a single primary !
It’s harder to cheat in Iowa and they hate fly over country.
Because they're more likely to be "honest".
The DNC is not going to put up with that nonsense.
With the way Democrats fool around with primaries you’d think they would manipulate general elections.
Maybe we should ask Bernie about that.
“Trump Hate” is overblown and ridiculously amplified beyond all reason, by our spooky intelligence agency dominated #EneMedia organizations, in sinister cooperation with America’s enemies, along with the aid of all their thoroughly compromised tools and fools presently installed into our government.

"You know, you're so skillful," the Vermont senator said. "You understand what I'm asking you. Can you say the words, 'Joe Biden won the 2020 election?'"
"Joe Biden is the—was the president of the United States," Patel said. Welch appeared exasperated, leaning back in his seat and laughing out loud.
I always thought that the race to be the first primary was stupid.
All the States should hold their primaries on the same day. That way the better candidates aren’t forced out of the running because the stupidest states with earlier primaries foist their worst candidates on the rest of us.
I know in my state, for decades, we have never really had a choice, because all but one candidate for each party has dropped out of running already.
The Senator is asking Patel to perjure himself and betray Trump while doing so.
Biden didn’t “Win”.
He was installed.
Cute that dems think their primary votes count. The DNC picks whomever they want.
I hope this is rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic.
Do California first.
