The recent shooting in Minneapolis that led to the death of Alex Pretti has the nation animated again. Pretti was killed over the weekend, shot by Border Patrol agents. He was armed, but the video analysis and investigation must be conducted, because this incident, unlike the Renee Good incident on January 6, isn’t as clear-cut. You can carry your firearm to a protest. Still, that doesn’t mean the Left didn't go insane, claiming this was another execution.

This kind of Republican leadership is why, even when we won, we always lost.

What’s happening in Minnesota is waking up the whole country. People don’t see justice or fairness, and doubling down isn’t going to work. It’s tearing the country apart.

If you can’t find the spine to defend federal law enforcement as they are being antagonized and assaulted, kindly be QUIET, James.
Yet, who is running away? It’s the Republicans, and you can see the dam breaking on this one. They’re in a midterm season, they’re digesting fake news, and being bombarded by panican political operatives. Former Breitbart and New York Post editor Emma-Jo Morris had the perfect tweet for this situation:

We will not be emotionally blackmailed into backing off what we voted for.

New tagline...
BTTT
Certain state and local governments may not like it, but the federal government is not improvising here. The actions now provoking protests and interference are grounded in long-standing immigration statutes passed by Congress and repeatedly upheld by the courts.
Detention, removal, cooperation with local authorities, and the execution of warrants are not novel inventions of a particular administration; they are the ordinary mechanics of immigration law as written.
Democrats want power.
Republicans want money.
Democrats use money to get power.
Republicans use power to get money.
By keeping those things in mind, everything else makes sense.
bkmk
The political parallel of this:
“Men use love to get sex, while women use sex to get love.”
With enough power, you don’t need money. You can’t have enough money that you don’t need power.
Not that I disagree, but I am starting to think that the Deep State as the State Department started all of this when it orchestrated shoving Somalis into Minnesota.
There are good reasons for limiting government. A crook will always find a way to abuse and profit off of any system.
If one is armed and attacks law enforcement officers, the results ARE INDEED crystal clear and fully justified.
Republicans also use money to get power. The GOPe loves candidates who can mostly self-finance their campaigns with the exception of guys like Trump who won't be leashed by them.

I hate Everytown, as they are about as anti-2nd Amendment as any group out there. However, (not in Minnesota) they have been working hard to make firearms at political rallies and near State Capitols illegal (as well as most public places). My hope is that the Supreme Court of the USA will soon make some of these laws totally unconstitutional.
Minnesota law: You must have your permit card and a valid driver’s license, state ID, or other government-issued photo ID in your immediate possession at all times while carrying a pistol. Pretti was not carrying an ID so he was in violation of the law regardless of his permit to carry.
Used to state clearly on the back of GA permit that carrying at a “public gathering” was not permitted.
And I voted in 2024 for the obliteration and draining of both
This is all that matters.
I'm viciously Pro2A, carry everywhere I can in hostile states and the news break is: LAW MATTERS. FAFO.
GREAT tagline!
From another recent thread:
"The moment you choose to carry a firearm, your responsibility goes up, not down. You don't become more entitled to engage in confrontation.
"You actually become more obligated to avoid it. Here in Minnesota, we have what's called a duty to retreat, which means if a judge later decides after the fact that you could have reasonably avoided a conflict, even if you felt threatened at the time, you could still go to prison for using your firearm. That's not theory.
"That's the real law here in this state. And anyone who teaches carry knows it. So the idea that a carry permit somehow entitles someone to walk into an active area of federal law enforcement, get into a physical confrontation with armed agents, and then claim, well, I had the right to be there.
"That's not how any of this works at all. If anything, being armed creates an elevated duty to stay away from such volatile situations..."
Excellent.
I like canasta, too. ;)
