U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy has spent years selling Louisiana voters one version of himself while consistently governing as something else entirely.
Cassidy’s record shows a pattern that should alarm every America First voter: siding with Democrats when it matters most, undermining President Trump, and then attempting to rewrite history once political winds shift.
In 2021, Cassidy was one of only seven Republican senators who voted to convict President Donald Trump during the Democrats’ second impeachment spectacle—an unprecedented, constitutionally dubious move aimed solely at destroying the MAGA movement and blocking Trump from ever returning to office.
At the time, Cassidy openly criticized Trump and even flirted with the idea of a third-party presidential bid designed to fracture the conservative base and hand power to Democrats.
A Reliable Vote for the Washington Swamp
Cassidy’s betrayal didn’t stop with impeachment.
During Joe Biden’s administration, he voted for the bloated $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act—a bill widely criticized for wasteful spending and climate-driven social engineering. He followed that up by backing the CHIPS Act, which conservatives blasted as massive corporate welfare disguised as industrial policy.
He also voted for the so-called Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, a gun control package dressed up with mental health talking points to make it easier for Republicans like Cassidy to justify selling out the Second Amendment.
Cassidy’s lifetime conservative score sits at just 62 percent, an embarrassing number for a Republican representing deep-red Louisiana. That’s not conservative leadership—it’s calculated deception.
Cassidy’s Trump Charade Collapses
Despite his record, Cassidy aggressively marketed himself as a Trump ally during election years. Before 2020, he ran ads touting his loyalty to Trump and repeated those claims in media interviews across Louisiana.
Trump carried Louisiana decisively, and Cassidy benefited from that support. But when Democrats came after Trump again with a sham impeachment over January 6—after Trump explicitly urged supporters to act “peacefully and patriotically”—Cassidy sided with the Left.
Trump endured two bogus impeachments, the Russia hoax, endless lawfare, a Mar-a-Lago raid, and politically motivated prosecutions—yet Cassidy never stood with him when it counted.
After Trump’s landslide return to the White House, Cassidy suddenly tried to rebrand himself as a loyal supporter, voting for nominees and posting photo-ops from the White House while pretending past betrayals never happened.
That act officially collapsed on January 17, 2026, when President Trump endorsed Julia Letlow in Louisiana’s Senate race.
Trump knows the truth: Cassidy cannot be trusted.
Cassidy Turns on ICE, Sides With the Left—Again
It didn’t take long for Cassidy to revert to form.
Following a violent ICE-related incident in Minneapolis, Cassidy joined anti-Trump Republicans like Lisa Murkowski in calling for investigations into federal immigration enforcement—publicly questioning the credibility of Immigration and Customs Enforcement while left-wing mobs interfere with lawful operations.
Instead of condemning radical protesters and backing federal agents tasked with removing dangerous criminals, Cassidy rushed to appease liberal media narratives.
Meanwhile, Minnesota politicians—including Governor Tim Walz—have actively fueled chaos while deflecting from scandals plaguing their own administration.
Louisiana Deserves Better
Cassidy’s behavior is not confusion—it’s calculation.
When Trump is strong, Cassidy pretends to stand with him. When the Left applies pressure, Cassidy folds. If Democrats regain power and attempt yet another impeachment, Cassidy has already shown exactly how he would vote.
President Trump saw through the act. Louisiana voters should too.
Bill Cassidy is not a misunderstood conservative. He is a career politician who masks liberal instincts with election-year rhetoric—and the MAGA movement is done pretending otherwise.

Regarding politicians, most Republicans are Democrats.
No Democrats are Republicans.
Primary him, the dirty S.O.B.
He sounds like our equivalent to Cornhole in the state to the west.
John Fetterman deserves the honorable mention.
CHAMELEONS ARE INTERESTING-—BUT NOT TRUSTWORTHY
Primary election will be held on May 16, 2026, followed by a possible primary runoff
on June 27, 2026, under Louisiana’s new closed primary system enacted in 2024.
President Trump better get involved in fielding a challenger. This is a closed primary. Thank God.
“This is a closed primary.”
That’s good to hear. I wasn’t aware of that. I hope a conservative can knock him off.
Cassidy is really a dem who ran as a Republican because he could not get funding from the dems for a campaign,
It’s nowhere near as “closed” as people think.
In order to get the new primary law through the RINO contingent of the Louisiana legislature back in 2024, a provision was forced to be included which allows “independent” voters to vote in whichever primary they choose.
There are almost as many independents as there are Republicans in Louisiana. Since they have nothing to vote for on the Democrat side, which primary might they invade? And which Senate candidate might many of them prefer?
He has long seemed to be a looser.
Campaign rhetoric by Julie Letlow who is vying for his Senate seat.
Trump already endorsed Julie Letlow.
U.S. Representative Julia Letlow (R-La.) officially announced on January 20, 2026, that she is running for the U.S. Senate in Louisiana, launching a primary challenge against incumbent Republican Senator Bill Cassidy. Backed by Donald Trump, Letlow is running to the right of Cassidy, citing a need for stronger conservative leadership.
Key Challenger: Rep. Julia Letlow, a Republican who entered Congress in 2021, is the primary challenger, aiming to unseat the two-term incumbent.
Trump Endorsement: Donald Trump endorsed Letlow for the race, calling for her candidacy following2 Cassidy’s past vote to convict him in his second impeachment trial.
Race Context: The race is unfolding as a major, high-profile Republican primary contest in Louisiana for the 2026 election cycle.
I am happy to see this former Democrat that is still a Democrat wearing a Republican suit is going to be primaried and Trump has already endorsed his primary opponent.
Cassidy fits in with Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins in terms of being a reliable squish.

Indoctrinated Marxists masquerading, pretending to be conservative Republicans. Spit!
He is a jackass’s jackass. Despicable human being. A fake, hair to hoof.
Primary him, the dirty S.O.B.

Excellent post!
I was from Louisiana…born & raised.
Cassidy is the BIGGEST POS ever!
I will contribute to Julia Letlow’s campaign.
I will contribute to Julia Letlow’s campaign.

Republican? If so, me too!
Susan Collins is the best we can hope for from Maine. She would be replaced by a Bernie Sanders far left equivalent if she lost. She is a place holder which is the best we can expect from Maine. Some GOP office holders are place holders whether we like it or not.
Despite the general disappointment with Cassidy, I will always be greatful he rid the Senate of the despicable Mary Landrieu!
