MORE than 200 migrants arrived in small boats yesterday during the third day in a row of Channel crossings.
It comes despite Labour’s vow to smash the gangs behind the surge in numbers making the perilous journey.
At the weekend, 455 people were picked up by Border Force and brought to Dover — taking the total for the year to 658 before yesterday.
At least 41,472 migrants arrived in 2025 via the Channel — the second highest annual figure yet.
Since Sir Keir Starmer was elected in 2024, at least 65,500 migrants have made the crossing to the UK from France.
The Home Office said it was “bearing down” on small boat crossings.
Police offers were on patrol as hundreds of locals queued for a packed public meeting regarding these plans.
It’s been reported that so many people arrived in protest of the asylum centre that the event had to be hosted outdoors.
Residents in Rhosllanerchrugog, near Wrexham, are arguing that the housing should be used to relieve the NHS hospital and provide beds for those needing them.
Over 500 local residents turned up to protest plans to house over 70 asylum seekers.
