A common TDS complaint is that Trump is crude. Once again he is proving them true, though eventually it will become refined.

It’s a sly, somewhat inside joke about Venezuelan heavy, sour crude oil.

And a good joke at that, too.

It’s part of the RUSSIAN shadow fleet.
Apparently they are screaming again in Moscow...

“Sagitta is owned by Sunne Co. Limited, a Hong Kong-based company sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury for its operations with RUSSIA. The sanction lists Sagitta as sailing under the Panamanian flag.”

On first look, the Reserve cannot directly handle the typically high viscosity Venezuelan crude oil.

It should make pretty good asphalt and similar products, though, and we have some refineries that can also produce fuel from it — that should at least theoretically free up some medium crude, which the Reserve is equipped to handle.

Further, shale oil can be and is often blended with heavy Venezuelan crude to make a much more desirable medium blend.

If Venezuela will behave itself, that also makes much more practical the development of Guyanan fields of lighter weight oil.
