Tesla (TSLA) just delivered a rare double whammy to Nvidia (NVDA) over the past weekend.

CEO Elon Musk revealed that Tesla’s much-talked-about AI5 self-driving chips are nearly complete, and that the next one, A16, is already underway.

With the AI inference part covered, Musk said Sunday on X that Dojo 3 is being restarted, pushing Tesla back into large-scale AI training after previously pulling back.

Nvidia threw the first punch, though, when it rolled out “Alpamayo” at CES 2026 (an open-source autonomous vehicle AI toolkit), aiming to become the default autonomy platform powering a ton of brands.

If it sounds like gibberish, it's not.

It's the sound of a very complex future.

Vehicle autonomy.

The transformative expression of meritocracy writ large.

You’ll go where Elon (or Nvidia?) wants you to go. 😅

I have a vision of tiny little self driving chips cluttering the highway.

A lot of people will appreciate self-driving vehicles when they are ready. But lots of kinks to work out.

Interesting battle.
But then Google has been making powerful AI chips for AI data centers for quite a while too. Only thing is they are only for internal Google data centers only....so far.
Chip battle is heating up.

Trial Attorneys will ask for government compensation to fill the lost revenue from not suing via the driver’s insurance for what is the manufacturer’s fault.

(Of course, the manufacturer will still be sued.)

Amazon is making their own AI processor too.

Rather, TSMC is making EVERYONE’S AI processors.

Yeah.
Don’t forget Samsung will make some of Tesla’s AI5 chips too.
In Texas.

“Alpamayo”

Why name a chip after dog food?
