It's always nice to be able to report some good news. On Saturday, FBI Director Kash Patel announced the arrest of one of the FBI's Top Ten Most Wanted; this goblin has been evading capture for the alleged murder of his former co-worker since 2016. He was caught in Mexico.
The FBI announced on Saturday that it had arrested Alejandro Rosales Castillo, who has been a Ten Most Wanted Fugitive since 2017.
FBI Director Kash Parel said Castillo was arrested in Mexico on Friday. He had been wanted in connection to the 2016 murder of his former co-worker, 23-year-old "Sandy" Ly Le, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"Alejandro Castillo is the fifth FBI Ten Most Wanted fugitive captured since last year, more than the entire previous four years combined. That reflects leadership, not luck," Patel said in a statement. "When law enforcement is given clear backing and the freedom to act, results follow. The work of the FBI Charlotte field office, our state and local partners, and Mexican authorities was exceptional, and this arrest finally opens the door to long-overdue justice for Sandy Ly Le’s family."
There have been tensions between the United States and Mexico in recent weeks, so it's good to see that cooperation on this level is still possible.
Castillo is now in a Mexican jail, awaiting a plane ticket to the United States. He will presumably be accompanied by a United States Marshal.
FBI Charlotte said in a press release that Castillo was captured in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico, on Friday. The field office said Castillo is detained in Mexico and is awaiting extradition to North Carolina.
"The FBI and our partners at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have worked tirelessly to find and arrest Alex Castillo. For more than nine years, he lived a normal life, likely believing he would never be captured, but our experienced investigators never gave up the hunt for justice," FBI Charlotte Special Agent in Charge James C. Barnacle Jr. said in a statement. "Sadly, Sandy’s family began another new year without her, we hope knowing her accused killer is in custody will provide some level of solace now."
Sandy Le's family can now, at least, get a little closure.

Two other people are implicated in the case:
Ahmia Feaster, who was initially listed as missing, turned herself in to authorities in 2017 and was extradited from Mexico to North Carolina, WTXF-TV reported at the time. The outlet said Feaster faced several charges, including accessory charges related to the murder.
A third person, Felipe Ulloa, was charged with accessory after the fact of murder in March 2017 in connection with the murder of Le, WTXF-TV reported.
This is how these things should always end up, with capture, trial, and punishment. In this case, the goblin in question was on the FBI's Most Wanted list, and that no doubt means more resources focused on finding and arresting the accused; but this, honestly, should be the result any time. We still have issues with violent crimes in our nation, most especially in several of our major cities. And this issue won't be resolved until every goblin, when contemplating a crime, is consumed by fear of capture and punishment. Too many, now, are not so concerned.
A step in the right direction, though, was announced on Saturday.

The US Post Office used to put up pictures and information on the most wanted fugitives from the FBI.
In 2009 the FBI had to use “the internet” for people to look them up.
“The shift was due to the rise of online resources (websites, social media) and the Postal Service needing space for revenue-generating merchandise.”
How did all that revenue generating stuff work out?
True, the McDonald’s employee said to a coworker “Isn’t that the guy on the TV news?” when they saw Luigi.
Closest I got to 10 Most Wanted were:
1) Knew a friend of one: A very nice black woman I worked with was one of the 2 or 3 closest friends to Angela Davis when Davis was on the run for knowledge of a murder by a fellow Black Panther. My friend at work later flew out to the trial to give her support after she was captured. Notice how unbiased I was despite being an ultra right winger.
2) Other was Pun Plamondon whom I was near many times at the cash register as a customer out at the book and magazine store where he worked.
Side note. Madonna was a brown haired dance student who worked at the Miller’s ice cream and burger place in the same block, where I had lunch regularly. She waited on me a lot of times before she moved to New York. I found out later she became famous.
Her friend said she was serious about dance and was saving every penny to go to live in New York.
Plamondon blew up the secret CIA office building in town with an explosion so loud the Chief of Police heard it in bed two miles away. Punk was a Top Ten fugitive, later caught and convicted. I had recently decided against renting an apartment in a building three doors away from the small building that was blown up. CIA used the building to recruit and coordinate spies among the college students to give information on SDS and Weatherman plans.
