BROKEN ARROW, OKLA (KTUL) — The Broken Arrow City Council has denied a rezoning request and conditional use permit for a proposed mosque near Olive Avenue after a contentious meeting that lasted four hours.
The decision came after the planning commission had approved the request last month.
The meeting drew strong opinions both for and against the project, with several speakers opposing it due to concerns about traffic on the two-lane road, stormwater and floodplain issues, and whether the development aligns with the city's comprehensive plan.
Rick Gates, a Wagoner County resident, expressed concerns about the financial implications, saying, "Maybe consider a different location. The expenses of building infrastructures and overbuilding, the existing infrastructure is going to be a lot of money and there is not going to be any return as far as sales tax."
Nearby business owners also voiced worries about potential congestion affecting customer access.
However, supporters of the mosque emphasized the importance of religious freedom and highlighted the contributions of Muslims to the community, including roles as medical providers, educators, and first responders.
Broken Arrow resident Sk Ahmed stated, "We just want to pray, that it. All we want to is just pray and that it nothing else."
The meeting concluded with some attendees leaving in frustration as the council decided to halt public comments.

And wisely so.
While it is true that they want to pray, their bible strongly suggests to us that they worship a God that is quite the opposite of the Christian God, that Jesus was no more than just a simple local prophet
"All we want to do is pray" is on a par with "the check is in the mail"
- at some point our nation has to recognize it and its Constitution is being played.

Even reading that which one might call recycled info from the past one gleans a great deal. I know that I got a lot of new info from that post.

If you don’t think Islam is a cancer, ask yourself, why would someone from a Muslim country want to live in a state like Oklahoma, Wyoming, Montana etc... Answer is easy, infestation. Same for Indians (not ours).
Diversity of Christian thoughts and beliefs is good. Diversity of colors in food and clothing, good. Diversity of migrants, very very bad.
If someone asked in a poll whether Muslims should be allowed into the US, the majority would say no. On Somalians? No. Go down the line, and tell me why those who are white are discriminated in immigration, while those who are from the bowels of hell and Mohammed are streaming in.
