Democratic Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly filed a lawsuit against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth on Monday — challenging Hegseth’s move to demote Kelly’s military rank after the senator told service members to defy the Trump administration’s “illegal orders.”
Kelly’s lawsuit, which was docketed in Washington D.C., claims Hegseth’s efforts to demote his rank following his November 2025 appearance in a viral video violates the Constitution’s speech or debate clause. Kelly argued in a statement announcing the suit the executive branch has never before sought to impose military sanctions on a U.S. lawmaker over saying “something that the President or Secretary of Defense doesn’t like.”

Mark Kelly should be preparing for the general courts-martial he shall be facing in the near future when he is recalled to active duty for that very specific reason.
And that is WAY beyond the purview of civilian courts.
Maybe Mark Kellys pal Alex Soros can make up the difference. Like how Dr Bill Gates likes to fund the CCP run WHO every time we cut funding to their evil control scheming in the name of Healthcare, really Deathcare.
Would be nice to see him brought back in service, and to be demoted all the way to an E-1.

I hope not. About half the country distrusts anything the military officially wants in a certain way. That’s often how they were brought up.

The military is not a democratic system. Military troops do not have freedom of speech that includes criticizing the duly elected commander in chief. Retired military are not veterans with 3 or 7 years in. They receive benefits they have privileges and prestige. They are not allowed to detract from the CiC

Pete Hegseth is ruling according to how he feels? Wow that’s some serious nonsense there.
Kelley is collecting what, $6k per month? Part of that is, yes ma’am, to shut up on public airwaves about how he feels about duly elected officials, it is certainly to refrain from encouraging active duty military to disobey orders. Yep.
In the modern legal system, civilian courts have jurisdiction over anything they want to have jurisdiction over.
Especially if it reflects badly on POTUS47. 🙄
Maybe the dims have that judge that magically turned a Federal Court Jurisdiction issue into a NY State issue. And Pete will get the death penalty only after awarding the entire Navy to Gollum.
I don’t think Mark Kelly can sue Hegseth directly. Guess we shall soon see.
