PITTSBURGH — Two Pittsburgh business owners are accused of stealing food benefits and turning them into profit.
Investigators with the Attorney General’s office call it a fencing operation, where someone buys and resells stolen goods for profit.
On Monday, the AG’s office issued a warrant for the arrest of a husband and wife who were reportedly stealing from the federal government.
“You’re robbing from the taxpayer that’s working so hard,” Mike Ichimura said.
Shoppers like Ichimura were shocked to hear Munir Chaudhri and Rachna Anwar are accused of coming to Sam’s Club on Mount Nebo Road to use stolen EBT card funds to buy goods for their North Side businesses.
According to the Attorney General, the couple used the fraudulent cards 834 times at Sam’s Club, Giant Eagle and Tom Friday’s Market across four years, starting in 2021.
Investigators say the couple used 453 different EBT cards with a total theft of over $178,000.
“We’re paying these exorbitant taxes and I don’t know anybody who doesn’t think their taxes are exorbitant and then the money is going so they can rob essentially rob our pockets only to sell to the poor on the North Side that just seems like an extra layer of despicable doesn’t it,” Ichimura said.

So possibly 453 people are selling their EBT cards for cash and should be banned from the program.
I remember a few years ago a convenience store owner would pay 50 cents on the dollar for SNAP benefits. He earned over $400,000 that he used to buy a house. The wife & him had a falling out and she snitched. Otherwise we would still be living the good life for free.
EVERY EBT/SNAP should have a photo ID on it as well as some sort of finger print verification.
So much waste, fraud and abuse in the republic.

No we should cancel the EBT card program and zero out the budget for snap. Republicans have the votes to set the SNAP budget at zero dollars. That will save $100Billion per year.

I have PERSONALLY seen Hispanics pulling out a stack of EBT cards from different states and running them all through until they paid for several carts of groceries and then paying for their cases of beer with cash.
ICE: Go to Walmart, Ross Dress for Less and Sam’s Club if you want easy pickings.
Do not forget it was the Uniparty that we elected that redistributed our wealth (taxation) that created the original fraud and put it on the soon to be $40 trillion national debt year after year after year without any significant oversight.

EBT cards are like credit cards, only the government puts money into the card every month to refill it.
Everyone knows exactly what, when a and where everything was purchased on the card and if the card was stolen, then the cards EBT recipient reports the card as stolen to get a new one.
The reality is that the cards are being “leased” by these grifters for a monthly kickback fee of say 25% of the cards monthly balance .
People in the are also leasing out their social security numbers to illegal aliens
The fraud in our system is simply stunning.
The fraud is so huge it has macroscopic impact on our economy and the Democrats are evil geniuses when it comes to building constituencies and lobbyists to apply political pressure and huge campaign fund contributions to keep these ever expanding programs alive. they have extended the places you can use these cards to big box stores like Walmart and Costco, Major grocery chains like Fry's Albertsons and Safeway, fast food joints like McDonalds , Jack in the Box, and Wendy's ,mini marts like Circle K and 7/11, and a ton of other shops owned by huge conglomerates
One of the surest signs that your neighborhood is about to go to hell is when you see "EBT Cards Accepted" signs suddenly popping up plastered on the doors and windows of local shops.

Back in 2015, our daughter told us about people she knew who were all getting food stamps and selling them for a percentage of the value every month. The fraud from “immigrants” (legal and illegal) has been going on for a long time.
Food stamps are not for the "needy" - they're to subsizide the food producers, wholesalers, shippers, and retailers.
Having a turd world retailer get rich off the scheme is far less expensive than managing complaints from hundreds of users. None of his "customers" will complain to a government agency when they're exchanging OUR money at 50% discount.
Sending them back, making them pay ‘restitution’ (hah) or probation isn’t enough.
