Secret Service launches desperate hiring blitz as mass burnout cripples Trump's protection force

The summer of 2028 is expected to be brutal for the Secret Service.

President Donald Trump will still be in office - and because he's term-limited - there will be nominees that need to be protected from both the Democratic and Republican parties.

Their running mates and families will also receive security details.

Additionally, for the first time since 1996, the United States will host the Summer Olympics, taking place in Los Angeles.

These demands come as the agency has been under scrutiny over two assassination attempts on President Donald Trump's life, and the threats continue, as a hammer-wielding maniac was arrested for breaking windows at the Cincinnati home of Vice President JD Vance overnight.

Some Secret Service agents are privately referring to 2028 as 'Armageddon,' the Washington Post reported Sunday, writing that the agency plans to beef up its ranks by around 4,000 people ahead of time.

That would grow the Secret Service to more than 10,000 employees for the first time in history, an addition of about 20 percent.

The Post reported that Deputy Director Matthew Quinn devised a plan to increase the Service's special agent ranks from about 3,500 to around 5,000 members. About 2,000 would be added to the Secret Service's Uniformed Division as well.

Some of the new hires would include support staff.

But hiring for these jobs isn't easy.

The Secret Service had tried to bump the numbers to more than 10,000 employees before - over 10 years, concluding in 2025 - but the COVID-19 pandemic and leadership changes interfered.

Now the agency is also facing a wave of retirements, as members who joined the force during the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks will soon be eligible.

“Mass burnout” = DEI hires see the writing on the wall that they will have to perform and won’t be coddled anymore.

Maybe we should outsource the SS protection force. Hire mercs and pay them so much they can’t be corrupted. Or maybe hire North Koreans, they must be about the best since their leaders stay alive.

They can fill the ranks of the Secret Service with H1B visa holders and any of the other illegal alien invaders they're bringing into the country.

They can hire guards away from soda and snack food distribution centers.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I saw an ad for hiring SS during football recently. My wife and I couldn’t believe it.

The Secret Service has plenty of agents.

The UK Daily Mail doesn’t know about it because...

IT’S SECRET!

There are a lot of high school and college basketball players, who are 6’6” or taller, that are not good enough for the NBA, but would make excellent SS agents.

Candidates may need Secret Service protection in California in the primaries but there is no reason for either nominee to campaign in California in the general election--so that is one state the Secret Service doesn't need to worry about.

It talks about nominees "that need to be protected from both the Democratic and Republican parties."

Actually, no. Only the Republican nominee has to be protected from the Democratic Party. The Democratic nominee won't be in danger of assassination from anyone in the Republican Party.

That sounds like a dog whistle ad to recruit multiple whackos to become part of a secret squad to burrow-in then sacrifice themselves to take out PDJT.

Mass burnout after a year? These must be really young agents. Young people today have neither stamina nor endurance and can't handle real work.

There are exceptions. They join Special Forces.

Given the current state of the Democrat Party, the Democrat candidates need to be protected from supporters of their rivals. In a primary, the Democrat needs to prove that she is a survivor.
