The United States attacked Venezuela and captured its long-serving President Nicolas Maduro and his wife on Saturday (Jan 3), with US President Donald Trump promising to put the country under American control for now, even as Venezuelan officials vowed defiance.
As part of a dramatic overnight operation that knocked out electricity in parts of Caracas, US Special Forces captured Maduro in or near one of his safe houses, Trump said. With Maduro in US custody, Trump said: "We will run the country until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition."
"We can't take a chance that someone else takes over Venezuela who doesn't have the interests of Venezuelans in mind," he said during a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Is Maduro going to have trial by jury in the state of NY? This is the same state that have juries who convicted Trump more than once !
Why is she not being court martialed like Kerry? Did she retire? Or was discharged?

well, the outstanding governing 2020 indictment is from SDNY. once arraigned i suppose change of venue could be requested. according to Turley evidence ag Maduro is overwhelming. willhave to watch developments.

It’s easy to forget that just because we plucked the top guy out of there, the apparatus of oppression, the secret police, the ‘enforcers’, the crooked local politicians are all still there, functioning largely as they did yesterday. It won’t be as easy as just moving in and setting up shop.
It survives by federal bailouts. Every taxpayer in the country pays for their stupidity.
I don’t understand why Maduro and wife are in N.Y. Pres. Trump must have some reason, but I don’t know what that could be. I would have picked a red state, like Texas.
AI could “run” Venezuela with a dedicated app developed by MAGA-friendly video game designers.
