The United States will run the country of Venezuela until a replacement for dictator Nicolás Maduro can be found and sworn in, President Donald Trump announced at a press conference today.
The Trump administration plans to send American oil companies down to take over the lucrative Venezuelan oil business, according to the president. And the U.S. military stands ready for a second and bigger attack on Venezuela should that be necessary, Trump promised. Maduro “will never again be able to” terrorize Americans, Trump promised.
The captured dictator and his wife face charges in New York for their role in fueling the deadly American drug war and sending here many terrorist cartel members, including Tren de Aragua killers. Maduro is now on his way to America.
Trump lauded the “overwhelming American military power, air, land and sea was used to launch a spectacular assault. And it was an assault like people have not seen since World War II.” Maduro sent terrorists, criminal kingpins, convicted criminal prisoners, and more to America.
He stole American oil infrastructure. and was behind the drug crisis killing hundreds of thousands of Americans, Trump stated. Now Maduro is deposed and in handcuffs, and the new Monroe Doctrine is alive and well —the “Don-roe doctrine,” Trump joked.
The assault was carried out by “a force against a heavily fortified military fortress in the heart of Caracas to bring outlaw dictator Nicolás Maduro to justice. This was one of the most stunning, effective and powerful displays of American military might,” Trump said.

I hope the Trump administration has CAREFULLY thought this through.
After Iraq and Afghanistan, I am VERY uncomfortable with any more nation building. We have enough problems at home.
Can’t wait for a synopsis
Of the Takedown!
Agreed.
I will admit, I was not expecting to hear any of this today.
Holy crap. This is not what I voted for!!!
I am royally ticked off. How about Trump worries about what needs we have here at home before being Venezuela’s uncle.
Did they even fire a shot?
Well, I voted for it.
Go vote dem.
Chicoms cry that’s not fair we run Venezuela.
I suspect some of Maduro’s insider might have turned against him. Unlike the Panama operation to get Noriega resulted in 4 dead US servicemen and 9 wounded. This Venezuelan operation only too half and hour with no casualties on either side.
The pattern of the operation strongly suggests high‑grade, real‑time human intelligence (HUMINT) that almost certainly required sources inside the Venezuelan security apparatus.
The U.S. forces had precise knowledge of:
his exact location
his movements
the layout of the palace
the security posture
the location of the safe room
That level of detail almost always requires inside help.
We took Out Hugo Chavez Mausoleum!?!
I Love This Guy!
So Venezuela is now a US colonial dependency? That will not sit well with most Venezuelans even if they hated and feared Maduro.
I think that Rubio has the background, knowledge, and team of advisers to make the Venezuelan transition work. And a Cuban transition is coming as well.

Does that mean boots on the ground and nation building?
In what sense?
Hugo Chavez popped.
Lucky Venezuelans...
Venezuela will not be run better than all of the blue American states, and could become more prosperous than most of those blue states.
