China's EV Car Bubble is Finally Bursting!

Living in China for 14 years, one thing I noticed about China is that China is wasteful. I'm talking from the top to the very bottom. Everybody is guilty of being wasteful in China. It's part of Chinese society.

If you go out for a meal with friends, you order a huge amount and there's always leftovers that just get thrown away. Especially if you're trying to show off, this is part of what you do.

If you're a government official, you're going to have every single dish in the restaurant served to you, and then the majority of it gets thrown away.

When anything is done in China, it is done in a wasteful manner. Go to a buffet in China and you will see firsthand what I'm talking about. People pile their plates up with stuff they could never finish.

Looks like AI produced clickbait.

Very skeptical of the claims.

One of the less appreciated parts of the Democrats Green Economy was colluding with the Chinese to use EV imports to destroy our domestic auto industry and launch the Chinese as the global leader in electric vehicle tech

The were planning huge factories in Mexico to assemble the EV from Chinese manufactured component to skirt US import laws

President Trump’s tariffs and shut down of EV literally saved our domestic auto manufacturing industry from near extinction

Instead, foreign automakers are moving production to he US and the Chinese are seeing their investment in EV dominance become a disaster

Building and parking EVs has been going on in China for a very long time . The world uses these parked EVs as their sales numbers for EVs and it’s all FAKE

not ALL fake

The Tesla model Y was the second best selling car model in the world in 2024. It is also a best seller in 2025 but I do not know the ranking.

Regarding China, many EV’s are failures. However, both Tesla and BYD are top sellers in China and both are quality vehicles.

Tesla and maybe BYD are going to be best sellers in California and Oregon in 2026 because the oil companies have left the state and there is no gasoline.

Ha ha, leftovers thrown away? I doubt it, more like saved and served the next day mixed in with the newer food. Thirty some years ago my brother was in charge of production for Hunter sprinklers and made many trips to China to check their work, he said the standard business dinner was Peking Duck. He said they would bring this beautiful duck out to the table then return to the kitchen with it and bring out the supposed same duck all chopped up.

The EV's you note get registered by the local governments and then become sold EV's even though they are all parked in a field some where.

The short answer to this mystery is the spectacular fall of the once-booming EV car-sharing market in China, similar to what happened with the bike-sharing schemes a few years ago. Thousands of ride-sharing companies were created during the past decade taking advantage of the generous government incentives which were slashed in 2019. This change in combination with other factors, including the lack of free parking spaces and the much-improved newer generation of EVs that made old models obsolete, forced the majority of the ambitious startups into bankruptcy.

Hahahahaha, I had to laugh. I did not realize it was Serpentza who produced the video...I have been watching his videos for years.

I 9/10 of the way through posting pictures I had taken from his videos, then realized the thread liked back to his channel!

If I want an unvarnished view of what goes on in Communist China, I check him first.

I always keep in mind he could be a Western intelligence asset (counter-propaganda) but it does not seem to me that he fits that bill, given his public background.

His videos are educational, fascinating, spot on, and occasionally repulsive (as when he ate a fried rat)

I recommend his channel highly.

I’m old enough to remember when Chinese children were starving to finish what was left on my plate.

If Tesla becomes a threat to anything Chinese whatsoever, they will find their orders for neodymium magnets refused or slow walked.

“I’m old enough to remember when Chinese children were starving to finish what was left on my plate.”

“People are starving in China, clean your plate.”

And I thought, how will this help?

Don’t forget that part of this was done personally by Obama — he took over total control of GM. Every EV manufacturer was given a loan (wanna bet on how much was skimmed?) and only Tesla paid back the loan.

That load payback probably flagged Tesla as an enemy of the state.

You are welcome.

One of the reasons I have come to regard his information as truthful is that I asked an acquaintance of mine (who came the the US from Communist China in the late Nineties...he and his wife are very conservative) if he had ever seen any videos from this guy, and he said that he had, and he thought these videos are the truest pictures of China most Westerners will be able to see.
