...Court records show that California Attorney General Rob Bonta’s office filed a notice on Dec. 23 voluntarily dismissing the lawsuit without prejudice on behalf of the California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA), which had been seeking to have the federal funding reinstated....
....An authority spokesperson told Fox News Digital the loss of federal funding will not derail the project or construction because most of the funding comes from the state through the voter-approved Proposition 1A and the Cap-and-Invest program. The spokesperson said federal dollars account for about 18% of total program expenditures and that the state is moving forward without them....

Are we talking here about the project that has never gone anywhere or moved an inch ahead? You might think that a casual observer would think they may as well willingly just give up on this project & return the money to be used for something worthwhile & can move forward.
I'd say that's EXACTLY why the suit was dropped.
CaCaLand voters voted down funding the BTrain. But, a judge ruled that such votes did not matter as it is the Assembly that decides such stuff: not peasants.
There is as much honest voting in CaCaLand as in Ukraine.
