New revelations this week supercharged two scandals in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, drawing unprecedented criticism from political allies.
At the heart of the controversy sit the so-called Qatargate scandal and an investigation into the leak of classified intelligence to the German Bild tabloid. Seemingly separate affairs, both involve Eli Feldstein, a former spokesman for the premier, and Jonatan Urich, a close Netanyahu aide.
In the Qatargate affair, Urich and Feldstein are suspected of taking money to spread pro-Qatari messaging to reporters, in order to boost Qatar's image as a mediator in hostage talks between Israel and Hamas, all while in the prime minister’s employ.
Feldstein has also admitted to leaking classified information to Bild, as part of an alleged scheme to sway public opinion and ease pressure on Jerusalem to reach a deal with Hamas. In comments aired this week, Feldstein alleged that not only was Urich — a suspect — also involved in the plot, but Netanyahu as well.

At the heart of the controversy sit the so-called Qatargate scandal and an investigation into the leak of classified intelligence to the German Bild tabloid. Seemingly separate affairs, both involve Eli Feldstein, a beleaguered former spokesman for the premier, and Jonatan Urich, a close Netanyahu aide.

This story is as Kafkaesque as it is Byzantine.
Ahh, we now know where the HilaryHag is : creating another RussiaGate “scandal”. This time, for America’s ally in the MidEast.
The two men should be executed for what they are alleged to have done. To take down Bibi, however, they will have to prove that he knew and covered it up.
“Three of Netanyahu’s closest advisers were in effect paid agents of Qatar and Hamas at the height of the war, while our soldiers were fighting and being killed by Hamas bullets purchased with Qatari money,” -Naftali Bennett
Let us not forget that the “Times of Israel” is an ultra left-wing rag. Nothing they print can be trusted.
A major political scandal, dubbed “Qatargate,” emerged in Israel alleging his close aides and associates took Qatari funds (Qatar being a Hamas supporter) to influence Israeli policy, leading to arrests and investigations by Israel’s Shin Bet, though Netanyahu also recently apologized to Qatar for an Israeli strike in Doha, highlighting Israeli ties.
Details on the Qatargate Scandal:
Netanyahu’s inner circle, including top aides, were reportedly paid by Qatari representatives to promote Qatar’s interests in Israel.
Israel’s security agency, Shin Bet, confirmed investigations into this “complex and multi-faceted” affair, resulting in arrests of some of Netanyahu’s aides for unlawful ties to Qatar.
Qatar hosts Hamas leaders and serves as a key mediator, creating complex financial and political links with Israel, which is the focus of this scandal.
In September 2025, Netanyahu reportedly apologized to the Amir of Qatar for an Israeli attack on Doha that killed a Qatari citizen, a move linked to pressure from U.S. efforts for a ceasefire deal.
Netanyahu’s administration is entangled in a scandal over alleged Qatari payments to his aides, while simultaneously engaging in delicate negotiations where Qatar acts as a mediator, requiring Netanyahu to apologize for military actions in Doha.
Meh...If you can see bias in their coverage of this scandal, point it out for me.
They’re not making up quotations from opposition leaders that’s for sure.
