Border Patrol agents arrested 42 people with commercial driver’s licenses issued to immigrants, including 31 from California, who were taken into custody at immigration checkpoints and highways. Those numbers would be at least 10X in August and September.

There is the manipulation and the lie.

45 people with criminal records were arrested, they happened to have commercial licenses.

ICE has access to criminal records, they don’t have the time to investigate their licensing records.

Yeah, no kidding about car insurance!

Also, this won't stop the Communists in California:

"California's expected decision to restore contested licenses sets the stage for a constitutional showdown over CDL authority. California is expected to begin reissuing approximately 17,000 non-domiciled commercial driver’s licenses that the state had planned to revoke following federal enforcement pressure."

These unqualified, idiot drivers - many of whom do not speak or read English - are being issued CDLs in California, Oregon and New York are causing accidents all over the US.

Recent Examples:

Biden Illegal Charged in Fatal Tennessee Bus Crash Was Granted Commercial Driver’s License by Sanctuary New York

Alleged Illegal Alien Truck Driver Arrested for Killing American Citizen in Sanctuary Washington

Washington Officials Ignore ICE Detainer, Release Previously-Deported Big Rig Driver ‘Who Caused Multi-Car Pileup’ Involving School Bus

Love my state. Hate its government.

“Of the 42 arrested in the Indio area of Riverside County, 30 were from India, two from El Salvador, and the remainder from China, Eritrea, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Russia, Somalia, Turkey and Ukraine.”

Just arrest any Indian driving a truck. They’re all illegals. Probably H1B “rocket scientists”.

There is no “constitutional showdown”. California will find out. Idiots in the press think illegals have constitutional rights to drivers licenses.

My car was totalled by an illegal alien a couple years ago. They had no license nor insurance.

A good friend of mine is a supervisor in the CHP’s commercial division. He was at training yesterday for enforcement of the English comprehension requirement. He said all they were being told was what they cannot do, but it sounds like California is going to have to comply with that requirement at least.

I'm not sure what the rules need to be about this inflation
of illegals into the USA. Columbus sailed in 1492 and the
foreingers are still coming. It would be interesting to see
what this planet looks like in another 100 years.

“...federal immigration operation targeting California trucking companies...”

It isn’t just in California. There are traffic stops being made in other states like Indiana to arrest illegal truckers. The Sac Bee is a liberal rag trying to generate panic in California.

“Is this why car insurance is so expensive in California”

No. Auto insurance was put into the public’s least interest in California many years ago. The key California proposition that changed insurance is Proposition 103, passed in 1988, which fundamentally reformed auto and home insurance by requiring prior approval for rate hikes, making the Insurance Commissioner an elected official, and allowing consumer groups to challenge insurer rates, aiming to make insurance fairer and more affordable by giving power to consumers.

But it backfired. By cutting off their rate hikes to bad drivers making the expense of them beyond the means of the company, the companies cut out their more affordable policies that could be varied and was left with what they called assigned risk which was very expensive. And unless you were a perfect driver and not under mid 20’s, that was the only policy available to the driver. And it only covered PL & PD, not collision or ACV comprehensive in some policies. So you weren’t insuring your car, just the other guy. And California is not a no-fault state.

It’s my guess that this is how the radical left and cartels are moving people (protestors, trafficking victims), materials and weapons around the country. That’s why Newsom and other democrat governors are so loose with driver’s licenses for illegals.

It’s possible the first foreigners arrived about 30,000 years ago but it wasn’t called the USA and they didn’t worry much about rules back then!
