WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A former Voice of America employee pleaded guilty Thursday to making threats against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia.
Seth Jason, 64, was charged with one count of interstate communications with a threat to kidnap or injure and one count of anonymous telecommunications harassment.
According to court documents, Jason called in eight threats targeting Greene, her office, her family and her staff between Oct. 2023 and Jan. 2025, with the severity of the threats increasing over time.
Court records noted that two threats took place days before the Presidential Inauguration, which consisted of Jason leaving a voicemail on Jan. 8 stating that Greene, her staff and her family would not be alive to “see the inaugural.”
Jason left an additional threatening voicemail on Jan. 21, where he said Greene and her staff, “were as good as dead,” and told her to “make your last will ready, because we are coming after you, and the only thing you’re going to hear is bang…I’m yearning to hear you cry for your last breath.”
According to the USAO, an investigation found that Jason had made the eight calls while working inside the VOA headquarters in D.C.
He is set to be sentenced on June 18, 2026, where he faces a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.

I’ll bet he gets one year of probation if even that.
The beat goes on, the calls for violence are being successful now.
I’d forgotten about MTG being on the receiving end of these threats. I wonder if this is what caused her changed behavior.
After one failed marriage, many “encounters” and a 41-year successful marriage I have learned that women CAN be inscrutable, unpredictable, scary and/or wonderful.
Then there are the ones who are hard to figure out.
This loser was a long serving member of the administrative state the Trump administration is trying to dismantle.
The good news is 85% of the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM) was terminated in June 2025
VOA employee? I thought VOA existed to promote freedom and democracy. I guess not so much.
So, you think threats of violence are acceptable in order to force politicians to change their behavior?
And maybe a nice paycheck, after that. MTG cited threats to her family in announcing her resignation.
I guess it depends on who was threatened. It's not "right" to give in to threats. But if her family was threatened I might be a bit more forgiving.,
