The daughter of one of the victims of Sunday's Bondi Beach terror attack told CBS News on Monday that her father was "shot dead for being Jewish," and she now believes Australia is not a safe home for Jewish people.
Sheina Gutnick said that her father, Reuven Morrison, a 62-year-old Soviet-born member of the ultra-orthodox Jewish community in Australia, was killed while attempting to stop one of the two gunmen during Sunday's mass shooting, which Australian authorities have called an antisemitic terror attack.
"From my sources and understanding, he had jumped up the second the shooting started. He managed to throw bricks at the terrorist," Gutnick told CBS News in Bondi on Monday, referencing an attempt to stop one of the gunmen that was caught on camera during the attack the previous day.
She said it was her father seen trying to stop one of the assailants after another man, later identified as 43-year-old fruit seller Ahmed al Ahmed, confronted the suspect and wrestled a gun away from him.
"I believe after Ahmed managed to get the gun off the terrorist, my father had then gone to try and unjam the gun, to try and attempt shooting. He was screaming at the terrorist," she said. "My dear father, Reuven Morrison was shot dead for being Jewish at a Hanukkah event on Bondi Beach while protecting lives, while jumping up, putting his own life at risk to save his fellow Jewish community members."

Australia is no longer a safe home for Jews or people who consider themselves to be free.
It’s the nature of true heroes that they prove how precious they were, the moment that you lose them.
Governments have gone Terrorist
Sad but true.
Australia has come full circle, it’s back to being a place for criminals.
Heartbreaking and terrifying. Just like “V For Vendetta”.
Not a home for muslims either.
Not a home for muslims either.
Not even a home for Australians either
Australia is not a safe home for Jewish people.
In America and Israel Jews can protect themselves. Gun laws in Israel were relaxed after October 7. Seems like a rational response.
Which ones don’t use the hand to wipe and don’t sexually assault woman and murder men on a regular basis?
Jews have 2.06 billion deadly problems and counting. That doesn’t look encouraging.
‘Australia (and several other nations) might want to ask themselves, “Which populations seem to cost us money and cause us trouble: the Jews or the muslims?” “Which group is easier for the rest of us to live with?” And then adjust our immigration policies accordingly.’
Big time.
I play music 4 times a month at a hotel near the local airport. Groups of Australians come through every so often. They are always in good humor, ready to party and converse about Australia and their travels. They are fun to hang with on breaks.
Especially in the government.
IMHO the best way to further this is to promote the next great awakening. Every time our predecessors got closer to God, they realized that their culture was worth preserving.
I’ve hung out with many Aussies as well. Great folks but they like to vote for commies lately.
I suspect it’s like it is here, mainly the AWFLs that vote for the Commies.
