Officer Krystal Rivera’s family says in the wrongful death suit that Officer Carlos Baker was struggling to accept her decision to end their romantic relationship when he shot her in her back in Chatham on June 5. The mother of Chicago police Officer Krystal Rivera filed a wrongful death lawsuit Wednesday in which she says her daughter’s partner, Officer Carlos Baker, was struggling to accept her decision to end their romantic relationship when he fatally shot her during a foot chase on June 5.
The lawsuit, filed in Cook County court against Baker and the Chicago Police Department, says the breakup stemmed from Baker’s infidelity and that Rivera had threatened to tell his live-in girlfriend about their relationship.
It says Baker showed up uninvited at Rivera’s home a day before the Gresham District tactical officers chased a gunman into an apartment in Chatham and encountered a second armed man, leading Baker to fire a single gunshot, which pierced Rivera’s back, killing her.
Thanks to quotas, blacks have punched way above their weight in police scandals. So long as quotas remain, in practice, the law of the land, incompetence by black appointees and unlawful conduct by black cops with criminal backgrounds will continue to blight urban police departments.
Well THAT ended it for sure.
For the CPD to field an incompetent cop might be grounds for liability, but the plaintiff blows that by introducing the idea that Baker deliberately shot the partner for personal reasons. Unless there is more to the case, judge should dismiss CPD as a defendant.
Can’t tell if Carlos is black or hispanic but it’s been my observation that neither ethnicity takes kindly to being dumped.
A few days ago a cop in my city was put in jail for similar.....he just didn’t go quite this far......but was using his professional position to harass the female.

I will paraphrase a saying we had back in the day for those that liked to run a harem: A badge can get you lots of women, but one woman can get your badge.
This DEI hire should have been $h*% canned before he even hit the streets. He was a problem even in the academy and during his probationary period, pulling stunts that would have gotten most others fired. He has some people heavier than whale crap covering for him and they are probably sweating right now. There were some tik tok videos of him in uniform acting like a clown at some city festivals that he was detailed to, sickening to watch this fool disrespecting the uniform.
Any sane person would not sign up to be a cop in a blue city. So, they lower the standards. Watch “cop cam” videos and you’ll see massively obese women and just about all the cops have full arm sleeve tattoos.
We had a phrase back in the day, that the three “B’s” will always get you in trouble, Booze, Broads, and Bullets.
