Rep. Luna: The U.S. government should NOT be giving $400 million to Ukrain
x ^ | December 8, 2025 | Rep. Anna Paulina Luna

The U.S. government should NOT be giving $400 million to Ukraine—especially with Zelensky refusing to respond to the President on the peace deal. The Ukrainian government was just busted for public corruption, and you can guarantee money laundering is involved. The fact that Congress is still sending them funding is horrifying. This needs to be taken out of the NDAA.

Foreign aid should be abolished.

Any number above $0 is not acceptable. None of these countries would help us. Looking at you, Europe.

Let’s exit this mess. We have our own problems. Europe can take care of theirs.

I don't know WHY we never go after the kingpin politicians, but that should happen before the end of THIS Trump administration.

Direct Funding: The 2026 NDAA authorizes funding for the production of weapons and defense articles to be sent to Ukraine.
Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI): Extends funding for USAI, providing military aid and strengthening Ukrainian defense capabilities.
Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA): Allows for the quick transfer of defense articles from U.S. stocks, including air defense, munitions, and anti-tank weapons.
Oversight & Accountability: Mandates stricter oversight, in-person monitoring, and requirements for allies to contribute their fair share (cost-matching).
No Disruption of Intelligence: Includes measures to prevent disruptions in U.S. military intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

Why?

As a country we don’t seem to care much about accountability. Doesn’t seem to be any political will for it. If we did things would be a lot different as there would be meaningful consequences for malfeasance and other crimes.

A system becomes dysfunctional and unstable when there’s no accountability because there are effectively no rules to discourage self-serving corruption and law breaking.
