WASHINGTON, DC – Concerned Women for America (CWA) has released a new report detailing the extent of LGBTQ+ themes in children’s programming on Netflix, and showing that Netflix is an “active driver” of the LGBTQ agenda.
CWA’s analysis of Netflix programming rated appropriate for children reveals that 41% of G-rated series, and 41% of TV-Y7-rated series on Netflix contain LGBTQ+ content.
“Netflix’s anti-child, anti-family agenda has finally been exposed – its children’s programming has been infiltrated by adult preoccupations with sexual preferences and gender identity. Our new report reveals that children’s programming is not exempt from identity politics – a drastic departure from its historical role. We knew that Netflix aired this kind of programming, but our study quantifies how many children’s programs are subverted by LBGTQ messaging and themes. These are shocking numbers and most parents are unaware,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President, Concerned Women for America.
“And now with Netflix’s acquisition of Warner Brothers/Discovery, families must beware that Netflix will be able to expand its irresponsible approach to content moderation for children. Government should make that part of the conversation of this merger. There should be an outside, independent council that represents the interest of parents, reviewing program ratings,” Nance emphasized.
In early October 2025, Netflix’s LGBTQ agenda surfaced when a clip from the Netflix original series Dead End: Paranormal Park in which a character named Barney “outs” himself as trans to his friend, Norma, went viral. Elon Musk amplified the clip with a call to cancel Netflix. After Musk’s tweet, Netflix stock lost an estimated $15 billion in value, and Internet sleuths set to work exposing other examples of LGBTQ+ content on Netflix children’s programming (some of which are documented here).
“Our report also reveals that Netflix content creators have knowingly pushed the envelope in an effort to expose children to adult themes. Netflix’s children’s programming far outpaced real-world LGBTQ demographics and accelerated dramatically after 2021,” said Nance.
Less than 10% of the overall population identifies as gay, trans or nonbinary, but the numbers are significantly higher for Gen Z, and continue to trend upward: roughly 11% in 2017 to over 20% in 2023, mirroring the surge in LGBTQ content in children’s media — particularly on Netflix — that came online during Gen Z’s formative years and suggesting the possibility of a closed feedback loop, with the media children consume both reflecting and then reinforcing their embrace of LGBTQ+ identity.
In 2021, 42% of children’s programming that debuted on Netflix contained LGBTQ content, characters, themes, or messaging. On Netflix, upwards of 60% of shows rated appropriate for children (TV-G, TV-Y, TV-Y7) that launched in 2023 (whether licensed or original) contained LGBTQ+ characters, themes, or messaging. In fact, there were fewer children’s shows introduced in 2023 that did not have LGBTQ content (9) than shows that did (14).
“The hundreds of thousands of mothers, daughters, and grandmothers I represent believe that conversations about sex and sexuality are sensitive, personal, and different for every family and child. Those conversations should take place only when the parent deems it necessary and developmentally appropriate. No parent wants to be forced to have a conversation about adult sexual preferences or gender identity with their child because of a cartoon,” said Nance.
CWA has reached out to Netflix in good faith offering to engage with the voices of women concerned with their increasingly radical content aimed at young children. Yet, the company refuses to engage, confirming their reckless disregard for children’s wellbeing and its circumvention of parental authority is done with clear intent and purpose to promote a woke agenda that most parents reject.
Findings:
Across all age categories (TV-G, TV-Y, and TV-Y7), 33% contained LGBTQ+ characters, themes, storylines, or messaging.
41% of G-rated series contained LGBTQ content.
TV-Y rated programming had the lowest ratio of LGBTQ+ content, with more emphasis on “educational” content. Even so, 21% of TV-Y rated programs still contained such content, including, notably, a reboot of The Magic School Bus: The Magic School Bus Rides Again which introduces Liz, a “trans-coded” chameleon and Mrs. Franklin (Angela’s wife); and Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City, which introduces Banoffee, a transgender character and Raisin Cane, who is “nonbinary.”
It is also worth noting that “reboots” of older series, or later seasons of long-running series frequently introduced LGBTQ characters where none existed before. In addition to The Magic School Bus, this was observed with Power Rangers, The Baby-Sitter’s Club, She-Ra, and The Fairly OddParents, among others.

I hate TV these days, and see virtually no movies coming out that are interesting. The times I’ve watched anything ‘mainstream’ more often than not it contains soft porn.
It’s more than disgusting, not to mention overtly boring. Watching television or most movies is like eating junk food. You generally regret it afterwards.
Agree. Live news and sport is all that matter to me because entertainment is corrupted. Our churches have become corrupted by entertainment.

Netflix has had a problem with pedophiliac programming for years. Back in 2018, Netflix premiered an Argentinian film called Desire that included a scene of child pornography involving girls under the age of 10. At the time, the news site PJ Media reported the film to the FBI and Department of Justice. The film included a depiction of a child masturbating.

It’s interesting that while the article uses the acronym LGBTQ, none of the examples of sexual deviancy refer to homosexuality - only ‘nonbinary’ or so-called ‘transsexuality’.
I guess that underscores the fact we already lost the battle over whether homosexuality is deviant - a long time ago. Once homosexuality became accepted as being within the normal range of choices, all boundaries between normal, healthy sex and deviant sex, were destroyed.
I have nothing against homosexuals - they can prefer what they want. But it should never have been accepted as normal, any more than eating feces or poking your own eye out should be considered normal.
Go ahead and do abnormal stuff - as long as you aren’t hurting anyone - but don’t expect it to be accepted as normal, or to tolerated in polite society - certainly not around children.
Homosexuals are roughly 2% of the population. If the shows are 41% LGBTQ, then there is a serious effort to groom the audience.
I watch programming that is at least 20 years old, that way it’s heterosexual love relationships.

In other words, I’m conceding that homosexuality is included in the all-inclusive acronym - but noting that none of the examples refer to homosexuality.
My point is that we can still get away with protesting the BTQ part, but protesting the LG part is a lost cause.
Except that shows with homosexual roles are being canceled because viewers don't watch them.
