A border abandoned and laws ignored have turned public frustration into a sweeping backlash that now threatens even legal immigration.
It is hard now even for Democrats to defend illegal immigration, given that the Biden administration allowed in more than 10 million entrants. Among them were an estimated 500,000 criminals. No one believes that was wise or should ever be repeated.
Worse, the message went out that there would be few, if any, deportations and no real ICE kinetic activity beyond the border.
The world’s poor, sick, both law-abiding and criminal, young and old, understood that anyone could now enter the U.S. at will. Deterrence and legality were lost.
In its place, the message went out that if it was permissible to cross the border unlawfully, then, by extension, it would be seen as equally fine to reside illegally as well—and perhaps further to ignore laws, on the theory that the host had sanctioned all such exemptions.
During the lockdown hysteria, some 8,000-8,500 U.S. soldiers were expelled from the military for refusing the experimental mRNA vaccine. State employees nationwide were being fired for refusing the government vaccines. Nevertheless, illegal aliens would have no such mandates or worries. They simply walked in without worries over vaccinations and current COVID status and surmised correctly that illegal aliens were part of a Biden-administration-protected and privileged category.
Indeed, between 2021 and 2025, in one of the most bizarre episodes in U.S. immigration history, the border simply disappeared. There were to be no background checks, no health audits, and no identification of the greatest influx in any four-year period in U.S. history.
No one knew why. All had their explanations.
Was the Biden handlers’ plan for more poor to grow the welfare state and expand liberal government?

Ok, we all know this - it is preaching to the choir here. Now what is important is how many of these illegals have been deported. Does anyone have a reliable number?
Somebody enlighten the author. A wetback coming across our border is always a criminal. "'Criminal.' Noun. One who breaks the law."
They break our laws as soon as they come into America unlawfully.
Don’t forget how many of the GOPe were fine with it.
Let's not forget those Republicans in Congress who support open borders at the behest of big business.
Comments BUMP!
We need deportation to go wild!!!!!
Apportionment.
It’s always been about apportionment.

Haven’t heard any democrat saying it was a bad idea. They’re still trying to justify the immigration practices of the Biden admin. As soon as they’re back in power it’ll be Biden era immigration on steroids. The author doesn’t understand democrats at all.
Twenty States Throw Tantrum After Feds Finally Notice Who’s Driving Their Kids to School
The result, however, of such a massive nullification of immigration laws has been that the nation’s outrage over illegal immigration has now extended to legal immigration as well.
Thomas Sowell predicted much of this in Preferential Policies.
And it is an obvious threat to our nation for all the reasons stated. What it is not, is a threat to the home countries from which the migrants come. For every family leaving, say Nicaragua, there is a small vacuum created. A vacuum that is missing an essential spark that could be part of a political rehabilitation of that country, which if multiplied by the population that has left, could turn around the lives of the masses of their mother country.
What I am saying here is that by allowing so many migrants within our borders, we are in degrees dooming these nations from ever lifting themselves from poverty, illiteracy, crime, and human-rights abuses. In contrast, the citizens of those countries are the rightful heirs of their future liberation struggle. Without that struggle, those nations will sink further into despotic and/or criminal regimes as the vacuum is filled accordingly.
If they love so much of what the United States offers, the best we can do is send them back home where they can do the most good for their posterity.
“We” all know this?? I have sympathetic friends and neighbors that supported the so called “immigration”. And still do by their silence. We need to keep saying over and over again how the people that came across the border illegally were used by the other side and they are still being used to divide us.
I hear about 500,000 actual deportations by ICE, and 1,500,000 self deportations, for a total of 2M.
Out of >30,000,000 illegals probably here.
So we haven’t reached 10% yet.
(Everyone has their own estimates. These numbers are what I hear as rough midpoints for the current state of play …)
Not exactly. Democrats believed it was necessary to complete the destruction of American constitutional government, overthrow the founding principles of the nation, and create a permanent electoral majority based on a dependent client population voting for the party of redistribution.
Somalis in the U.S. are heavily concentrated in Minnesota, especially the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul), home to the nation’s largest Somali population, often called “Little Mogadishu,” but significant communities also exist in Ohio, Washington, and California, with smaller pockets in places like New York and Boston. They initially settled in large numbers in Minnesota due to tax-paid refugee resettlement programs, creating strong community networks.
Key Locations:
Minnesota (Largest Hub): The Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis is a major center, attracting many Somalis seeking family and support systems.
Other States: Ohio (Columbus), Washington (Seattle area), and California (San Diego, Sacramento) have sizable populations, often formed by secondary migration from Minnesota or direct settlement.
Northeastern Cities: New York City and Boston also host Somali communities.
Why Minnesota?
Refugee Resettlement: Minnesota became a primary destination for Somali refugees fleeing civil war, famine, and instability starting in the 1990s.
Support Networks: Strong resettlement agencies, established Somali communities, and economic opportunities drew them in and helped them stay.
Recent news reports have highlighted significant fraud in programs designed to treat autism, which has led to increased scrutiny of how public funds are spent.
Fraud in Treatment Programs——there have been significant fraud cases in programs that provide services for individuals with autism, particularly in Minnesota Somali strongholds.
Specific Cases: Federal prosecutors in Minnesota have charged Somali individuals in a widespread scheme to defraud a state-funded autism program (Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention, or EIDBI) of millions of dollars.
Fraudulent Somali Activities involved:
Billing for services that were never provided.
Paying kickbacks to Somali parents to enroll their children in centers, sometimes even if the children did not have autism.
Employing unqualified Somali staff.
Ties to other Somali large-scale fraud, such as the “Feeding Our Future” child nutrition program scheme. These fraud cases have led to increased oversight and new regulations for autism treatment providers in Minnesota to prevent future abuse of the system.
In summary, the substantial flow of government money into related programs has unfortunately attracted Somali autism criminal fraud.
