Slackers compared to useless eaters Somalian refugees!
13 people pilfering only $750k? What a low-aim bunch. Now if CA had Somalis, it would have been some serious, brag-about theft.
“Isolated” they say. So no worries
Where ever there is money you will find leftists stealing it.
I trust he's driving an old beater to work.
Does every program the government comes up with end with corruption? ... only one answer fits here.
Tax-paid govt employee, Georgette McKinney, a supervising child support specialist for the Child Support Services, stole over $55,000 with her own identity – in addition to stealing over $76,000, using 28 fictitious identities, the district attorney’s office said.
In another case, Jessica Alcorta was charged for stealing over $36,000 in unemployment benefits while working as a legal office support assistant for the district attorney’s office.
And $700,000 is one year’s salary for most LA county employees. Any wonder the county is a corrupt, incompetent, bankrupt mess that can’t meet its basic obligations like fire prevention?
Thank God, DA Nathan Hochman was elected - he ousted the idiot George Gascon, of whom you could be sure would have let these thefts of taxpayer money slide.
As it is, given deep blue LA, Hochman will have an uphill battle.
Get Rich Quick...become a politician!!
When an NGO accepts a grant from the federal government or solicits donations from the public, there is no cap on salaries the officers pay themselves. What is reasonable? $200,000? $600,000? There’s an international relief organization that solicited private donations that took in $278 million in 2023 and reported $221 million in “administrative” costs which was mostly salaries. That means almost 85% went in someone’s pocket. Corporate salaries can run as high as $750,000 or more. And if it’s private money, it’s legal! I call it tax on the terminally stupid!!
It’s called doing well by doing good.
Probably mostly “the usual suspects”
Spok posted: When a do-good NGO accepts a grant of tax dollars from the federal government (and solicits donations from the public), there is no cap on salaries NGO officers pay themselves.
Example: An “international relief do-good” solicited private donations; they took in $278 million in 2023 and reported $221 million in “administrative” cost—— mostly salaries. So almost 85% went into the craven do-gooders’ pockets.

Easy to believe this level of “do-good fraud.”
Almost 85% went into the craven do-gooders’ pockets.
Liz, thanks for putting a few exclamation points about this highway-robbery. It’s got to stop!
