The New York times left the Pentagon, because they refused new rules that restricted their free range to any office in the pentagon. They left, no one kicked them out.

Who in their right mind allowed the press to walk into any office of the Pentagon?
That was a security hole that was very properly closed by Hegseth.

The Times is citing Wilson’s “propagandists” comment as evidence that the Pentagon is discriminating against reporters for their points of view.

Can we trusting news consumers SUE the NYT for failing to tell the complete truth when they know it, and calling themselves a "news" agency?

The last time I checked the Constitution’s guaranty of freedom of the press protects the things which press outlets SAY, but says nothing about access to top secret military installations or to military personnel.

Hegseth could avoid this whole issue if he didn’t ban the NYT. He then could refuse to take questions from the NYT which would have the same effect as a ban but is not unconstitutional.

But if someone reviews the leaks and phony stories they might find out who is leaking to the NYT.

Hegseth represents the office of the president. He is authorized to do so and speaks for the president under that situation. So suing him is like suing the guy who dips the ice cream at Baskin Robbins. So the times can wait their turn in line.
