U.S. District Judge James Boasberg on Wednesday ordered two Jan. 6 defendants pardoned by President Donald Trump to be refunded in full for restitution payments made and fines incurred as part of their earlier criminal cases.
It was a reversal from just months earlier, when the same judge rejected their bid for repayment.
Boasberg used a memo order Wednesday to outline the fairly complex case history for Cynthia Ballenger and her husband, Christopher Price, both of whom had been tried and convicted on misdemeanor charges in connection with events of Jan. 6, 2021, and ordered to pay hundreds of dollars in assessment fees and restitution.
Boasberg’s order effectively clears the way for the government to refund them both in full.
The new decision, he said, is the result of an appeals court decision, as well as the timing of Trump’s pardon, which came at the same time as their case had been pending appeal before the D.C. Circuit.
“Having viewed the question afresh, the court now agrees with the defendants,” Boasberg said. …

Somebody starting to get worried about their OWN criminal charges?
Biasberg SHOULD BE IN PRISON!
He knows he’s in serious trouble.

We’ll be seeing that little tidbit more and more...
Too late. No redemption for that seditionist.
For any that think justice will finally be served upon receipt of that refund, think again. Their refund will be paid with taxpayers' money. Justice would be for whomever set them up in the first place, whoever brought charges, whoever prosecuted them--I'd want THEM to pay the refund. Not the taxpayer.
Agreed. It looks like he’s trying to buy his way out of trouble.
The new decision, he said, is the result of an appeals court decision, as well as the timing of Trump’s pardon, which came at the same time as their case had been pending appeal before the D.C. Circuit.
Rather, he said, the reversal hinged on the fact that both their cases had been pending before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit when Trump granted the pardon, “thereby moot[ing] their appeals” and causing their convictions to be vacated completely by the higher court.
Never mind that.
All J6 victims should sue the crap out of all the players for millions of dollars in punitive damages and for pain and suffering.
That should include the officers, FBI agents, Pelosi, the J6 Committee members and kangaroo court "judges"....All should be individual suits and against the bad actors...not the taxpayers.
Additionally, all of the above should all be prosecuted and convicted for Constitutional and civil rights violations. (and probably sedition).
If anyone committed an insurrection...it was them.
Add “deprivation of rights under color of law.”
Worried about impeachment much? 😉
No they paid the fine and it is being refunded.
sounds that way to me.The decision seems to be made after Trump’s decision to pardon in order to defer trouble for Bozoberger.

Well, that's a shame. They probably deserve a lot more for their pain and suffering. I'd still like to see all those involved with the prosecutions be punished.
