It's an observation based on history and the Bible.
Can I with 100% certainty say this is what happened? No.
You cannot with 100% certainty say its not the cause.
I look at history as a series of cause and effect. Events do not happen in isolation. I also look at the world through a biblical viewpoint. I realize a lot of people do not.
I always amazed me that after Churchill led England through the war his reward was getting tossed out of office. That was a pretty big indicator that the English people had a death wish.
By the final centuries of the Western Roman Empire, Rome was so short on native recruits that it leaned heavily on “barbarian” fighters, simply because they were the only ones willing and able to serve as the population shrank and military service lost its appeal.
Today’s United States shows a softer version of that trend: the military relies on more than 40,000 foreign-born service members — about 5% of the active force — at a time when native-born recruitment is falling. It’s not a crisis, but it’s a warning from history: when fewer citizens volunteer and a country grows dependent on outsiders to fill the ranks, it risks drifting toward the same legitimacy and cohesion problems that helped undermine Rome’s ability to defend itself.
Are those rhetorical questions?
“You cannot with 100% certainty say its not the cause.”
It is impossible to prove a negative. I would have thought that a historian of your proclaimed status would know that.
As I said, I look at history as a series of cause and effect. Events do not happen in isolation. I also look at the world through a biblical viewpoint. I realize a lot of people do not.
Vietnam will be studied on how not to fight a war. Or at least, it should be.
Know where you can shove your Palestine! Lyrics.....
Here’s to the lads in Westminster
May they drink their Guinness through a straw!
Hurrah!
To the wise men of Ottawa, Canberra, and Paris —
May they choke on their virtue-signalling!
Hurrah!
And to the clowns in Madrid, Ankara, and Dublin —
May their speeches sink in the swamp of their own lies!
Hurrah!
Now sing it with me, boys, louder than a banshee’s wail!
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine?
You can stick it where the sun don’t shine!
With your borders undefined
And your justice misaligned
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine!
The headlines all were blaring, “A new state has been declared!”
By men who’ve never walked the streets they claim to have prepared
No leaders, laws, or borders — but sure, it sounds real grand
It’s virtue-signalled paper with blood upon their hands
Oh you know where you can shove your Palestine?
You can stick it where the sun don’t shine!
When your mob runs the street
And the locals face defeat
Oh you know where you can shove your Palestine!
“Two-tier Keir” doesn’t care when terrorists flex
But his coppers cuff a pensioner for hurty words on X
Our flags are called offensive, but Hamas can march with pride
It’s justice for the chosen few, the rest get pushed aside
Oh you know where you can shove your Palestine?
You can stick it where the sun don’t shine!
With your two-tier law
And your coward’s guffaw
Oh you know where you can shove your Palestine!
In Madrid, Sánchez stumbles, his economy’s a wreck
Points at Israel to dodge the knife at his political neck
His woke decrees and tax hikes crush the workers in their prime
Yet he waves the Palestine flag to buy a bit more time
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine?
You can stick it where the sun don’t shine!
When your leaders dodge the blame
And their failures fan the flame
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine!
Oi! Oi! Oi!
Erdoğan dreams of caliphates, a global throne to claim
Backs terror while he postures, with Israel as his blame
Why’s this sultan still in NATO, with bloodlust in his eyes?
His jihad fantasies betray the alliance’s lies
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine?
You can stick it where the sun don’t shine!
For your caliph’s fevered dream
And his terror-backed regime
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine!
Albanese in Canberra, with bushfires left to rot
Paints Israel the villain to cool his union’s hot
Carney’s Canada’s a mess, with debt and crime galore
Yet both cry “Free Palestine!” to settle their own score
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine?
You can stick it where the sun don’t shine!
For your fires left to burn
And your voters’ trust you spurn
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine!
Macron thinks he’s clever, says “Palestine hurts Hamas,”
A brainless quip so daft, it’s like he’s sniffing his own gas
While Paris streets are torched by mobs
He’s too weak to restrain
He gifts a state to terrorists to polish up his name
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine?
You can stick it where the sun don’t shine!
With your logic upside-down
Coz Sharia rules your town
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine!
“Queers for Palestine” march loud with rainbows in the street
But in Gaza’s towers, they’d be tossed from the concrete
Chanting for a cause that’d hang ‘em high without a care
It’s irony so thick, you’d choke on all their empty air
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine?
You can stick it where the sun don’t shine!
For your rooftop bungee dive
Where no queer would stay alive
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine!
The mobs who burn for Palestine are no strangers to the clink
Grooming gangs and vandalism, they’re closer than you think
Smashing windows, beating wives, then waving flags so bold
Their “justice” is a street fight, their morals bought and sold
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine?
You can stick it where the sun don’t shine!
For your riots in the square
And your crimes we can’t compare
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine!
Greta’s selfie flotilla sails with not a scrap of aid
Torches her own boats, then blames Israel’s blockade
A TikTok tantrum for the ‘Gram, her carbon footprint’s vast
Her climate crusade’s a circus, and the world’s her selfie cast
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine?
You can stick it where the sun don’t shine!
With your boats that burn for clout
And your hashtags scream and shout
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine!
We never asked for Palestine, it’s not our daily fight
We want our towns kept peaceful and our families safe at night
But mobs parade their foreign flags, and terror fills the square
While leaders scold their own folk, as if we weren’t there
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine?
You can stick it where the sun don’t shine!
For your hostages ignored
And your terror mobs adored
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine!
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine?
You can stick it where the sun don’t shine!
No more hot-air party hack
We will take our country back
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine!
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine?
You can stick it where the sun don’t shine!
No more hot-air party hack
We will take our country back
Oh, you know where you can shove your Palestine!
Or more precisely, Stalin's pressure was not to "speed up D-Day" but to not delay it.
FDR and Churchill agreed in 1942 that ultimately an invasion of Europe would be necessary. In the first month of 1943 they reached a final agreement that the invasion would occur in mid-1944. In 1943 the U.S. began to stage men and equipment in England for that invasion.
Churchill pushed for a delay at their Dec 1943 meeting and FDR, who had no intention at that point of delaying, let Stalin convince Churchill delaying was inadvisable. Stalin was motivated, of course, to argue the point.
Not that I disagree, but when it comes to the Roman Empire’s fall, don’t underestimate the fallout from famine and plagues. IIRC, they were estimated to have reduced the population of Rome by 90%, over time. A lot of people migrated OUT of the Western Empire, too. Then the Eastern Empire got whacked by the “Little Antique Little Ice Age” and more famines — the Justinian Plague alone, which started in 541 AD, killed an estimated 30 to 50 million people. Plus, many Slavs and Lombards migrated in from areas with harvest failures.
Game over.
Countryside is still nice.
That is most certainly true, at least from a political perspective.
Our forces prevailed in the field, and we left at our leisure after the "Peace Accords".
Close to two years later, North Vietnam violated the Accords and reinvaded SVN (VWIII?). Our liberal Congress at the time, of course, wanted no part of it. Notably, the much-publicized photo of the embassy helicopter evacuation consisted of civilians.
The U.S. military did not lose the war but since the ally it supported ultimately was conquered, the Left says the U.S. "lost the war".
That song was prophetic.
L
yikes. the brits created the homeland for the jews in Israel. They were as much the birthing nation for Israel as they were the birthing nation for the USA.
Perfidious Albion was seduced by and embraced Lenin and the Globohomo.
If you are right, then all of Western civilization is dead. It has not chance. It is dead. When the West dies, so also goes the Jewish diaspora because it mostly cradles under the wings of Western civilization.
so all that’s left is Israel. Can Israel build the new temple without allies?
Please be careful of your own most cherished prejudices.
Karl Marx is buried in London.
But it doesn’t mean they always will.
I do believe another Temple will be rebuilt. But that means removing the Al-Asqa Mosque. It sits where many believe Abraham was going to sacrifice Isaac.
That'll be a mess when that happens.
The part that is of concern for me is I see no mention of the US as a major player at some point in the future.
