The Left’s Climate Dreams Hit Energy Reality
The Wall Street Journal ^ | Nov. 28, 2025 4:47 pm ET | Chris Horner

In Massachusetts, Gov. Healey boasted about blocking two gas pipelines. That’s embarrassing now.

Speaking in Indiana on July 29, 2025, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator, Lee Zeldin, and Energy Secretary, Chris Wright, detailed moves to repeal the 2009 Obama-Biden ‘endangerment’ finding, used to justify much of their climate agenda.

The politically-driven effort to force a transition from traditional power to wind, solar and battery has produced an energy crisis in blue America. Progressive-led states are beset by increasing electricity rates and declining reliability. Although their leaders uniformly blame President Trump, the costs have become so high that some on the left are finally scaling back these destructive policies. But it’s no guarantee sobriety will win the day.

New leftwing awareness of energy realities is apparent coast to coast. Former New Jersey Rep. Mikie Sherrill won the state’s governorship this month in part by pledging to deal with high electricity costs. As a member of Congress Ms. Sherrill reliably voted for the energy-transition agenda, although on the campaign trail she blamed Trump policies for her state’s problems. Out West, California Gov. Gavin Newsom is moderating some of his positions in anticipation of a 2028 presidential run from a state with the nation’s highest electricity rates. Mr. Newsom recently signed legislation returning billions to the state’s beleaguered rate-payers. As he slowed some of the “climate” regulations that he previously helped accelerate, Mr. Newsom deflected responsibility to subsidy reductions in President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” that have yet to take effect.

Yet recent infighting over detransitioning in Massachusetts indicates that holdouts remain, opposing even the most sensible adjustments. In late October, the organization...

Everyone pays for this crap. Grid is supplied by the red states because the blue states can’t fuel it with wind, etc. Your rates go up to provide the grid with enough power to assist the supply for these bozos.

The “Left” doesn’t care what it costs or that WE live in frigid unlit houses. Every leftist who forces the green garbage on WE plebes has their sticky fingers in some green scam company and will make a fortune.

1) What is to prevent one state from building more power plants (nuclear, fossil fuel, whatever) and selling that energy across state lines to the green states?

2) Many on the left are pro-AI whose data centers use a lot of electricity. Will MAGA find a way to divide and conquer?

States who have to depend on other states for electricity should be investigated as to why & possibly be taken off the dole. These would be the states who have tried to do the impossible with solar & wind. It won’t work & they should have realized that by now, but instead their citizens have to pay the price for the high-priced electricity. The politicians who have allowed this situation to exist, particularly if a shortage comes to pass, are criminally guilty in my opinion.

Conservation laws apply to energy.

There are no similar laws for the words and dreams of the Utopian Left, who’s “utopia” involves killing off 99% of the world’s population.

The leftist Communists are really amazing in their denial. They will think Trump destroyed the energy system in less than a year. We will see cold people on TV with no electricity, no gas and no heat blaming Trump for the Democrat mistakes. They will not even be able to go south because they cant charge EVs. This could start the riots leading to a color revolution.
