U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio plans to skip a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels next week, two U.S. officials said, in a highly unusual absence of the top U.S. diplomat from a key transatlantic gathering.
Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau will represent Washington instead, said one of the officials, who requested anonymity to discuss matters that have not yet been made public.
It was unclear why Rubio planned to skip the December 3 meeting, and his plans could change. But his likely no-show comes when U.S. and Ukrainian officials have been scrambling to narrow gaps over President Donald Trump's plan to end Russia's invasion of Ukraine, with some European diplomats complaining they are being cut out of the process.
There are usually two formal NATO meetings of foreign ministers per year, and it is exceedingly rare for a U.S. secretary of state to be absent. In 2017, during Trump's first term, then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson initially planned to skip an April meeting, though the gathering was then rescheduled to accommodate his schedule.

Just an annual meeting....aka....wasting everyone’s time.
He’s likely skipping it to snub them for their hindering peace talks.
And as a signal that the USA is more concerned with securing its own hemisphere.
Good!! NATO is a waste of time and U.S. tax dollars.
The EU opposes any negotiated settlement to Ukraine war.
The grifting and corruption must continue(even though Zelensky is being exposed as a criminal.)
US demonicrats/UK/EU=anti-peace, because they are anti-Trump and anti-American.

VERY SIGNIFICANT - Obviously Rubio WANTED to be with his Globalist friends, as opposed to being stuck in DC with Trump, but Trump said NO, and so our disengagement from Europe continues.
I suspect that Rubio won’t last much longer in office, now that he’s being outed, not only as part of the Deep State, but in the group of people, led by Kellogg, who have being LYING TO TRUMP non-stop regarding the Ukraine War. Kellogg himself was just ousted, so I expect the same for Rubio soon. He did well at fooling Trump and fooling many here, as if he had suddenly turned MAGA, but it’s simply not possible to for anyone to keep that illusion going indefinitely...and he didn’t.
Not to worry, Rubio can acknowledge Brussels by dumping the sanitary tank on the flyover.
