A Bangkok court has issued an arrest warrant for Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip, the co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization, after Mr. Jakrajutatip failed to appear in court on Tuesday in relation to a fraud case.
Mr. Jakkaphong is accused of defrauding an investor in 2023 and was released on bail, but he was a no-show for court on Tuesday and did not notify officials, The Associated Press reported, citing a statement from the Bangkok South District Court. The court deemed him a flight risk and rescheduled the hearing for Dec. 26.
Jakkaphong’s company, JKN Global Group, bought Miss Universe in 2022 and then sold 50% the following year to Legacy Holding Group USA, which is owned by Mexican businessman Raúl Rocha Cantú.
JKN is accused of cheating investor Raweewat Maschamadol during a 2023 corporate-bond deal that Maschamadol says cost him roughly $930,000. Mr. Maschmadol says Mr. Jakkaphong and JKN misrepresented the company’s financial health when selling him the bonds. JKN ceased making investor payments in 2023, effectively erasing the value of the corporate bonds.

Since the pageant organisation is not based in the United States, where post-1960 Communications Act revisions prohibit fixing of competitions of skill after the quiz show scandals, more allegations of pageant fixing have developed.
In an interview with Adela Micha in Spanish, co-owner Raul Rocha denied the new Miss Universe prize was nepotism. The winner's father once was an executive at state-owned Mexican Petroleum (Pemex).
The pageant could be for sale again.

Paging Donald Trump…
Should have had higher bail. Should could have escaped to anywhere in the Universe.
One of the most hilarious moments in TV history was in 2015 when Steve Harvey announced the incorrect winner of the pageant and then had to correct himself immediately afterward. The poor runner up who was given the crown, and did not speak English, could not understand why they were taking it back to give to the real winner. The looks on all involved were priceless!
Steve Harvey is a racist moron.
Anyone that’s watched Family Feud and has an ounce of objectivity can se his overt racism towards White people.
And the fact that he can’t even read the right winners name at a beauty pageant proves he’s an idiot.
I guess you are entitled to your opinion.
I recently enjoyed the 6 seasons of The Steve Harvey Show on Netflix. As a comedian, I enjoy his sense of humor and his mannerisms while comedy acting. Yes, black entertainers get a pass when it comes to certain subject related to racism, but I personally do not know of Mr Harvey’s ‘racism’.
Racism, while repugnant, is a fact of life and all people, white, black, brown, yellow, seem to have built in biases.
‘Racism, while repugnant, is a fact of life and all people, white, black, brown, yellow, seem to have built in biases’
Sad but true.
Maybe sad, sometimes, but those biases are also a part of our survival instincts. We trust our clan more than we trust those who are different than us. That does serve a purpose.
We attended one of his tapings and he gave his testimony and an invitation to receive Christ after the taping portion was over. It was very powerful.
I am surprised this has gone unnoticed.
Mr. Jakkaphong purchased Miss Universe from Endeavor Group
Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip (Thai: จักรพงษ์ จักราจุฑาธิบดิ์; born 17 February 1979), also known as Anne Jakrajutatip, sometimes informally stylized as Anne JKN, is a Thai businesswoman and television host, along with being the founder and current CEO of JKN Global Group.

In 1996, Donald Trump bought the pageant from ITT Corp, with a broadcasting arrangement with CBS until 2002.[11] In 1998, Miss Universe, Inc. changed its name to the Miss Universe Organization, and moved its headquarters from Los Angeles to New York City.[12][13] By late 2002, Trump entered into a joint venture with NBC,[1][14] which in 2003 outbid the other markets for the TV rights.[15] From 2003 to 2014, the pageant was broadcast on NBC in the U.S.
In June 2015, NBC canceled all business relationships with Trump and the Miss Universe Organization in response to controversial statements about immigrants who illegally crossed the border from Mexico.[16][17] As part of the legal settlement, in September 2015, Trump bought out NBC’s 50% stake in the company, making him the company’s sole owner. Three days later, he sold the company to WME/IMG.
On October 26, 2022, Thailand-based JKN Global Group acquired Miss Universe Organization (MUO) from Endeavor Group Holdings-owned IMG Worldwide at $14 million, making Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip the first transgender woman to own the organization and marking the first time the organization moved its headquarters outside the U.S.
Lot of minutia in there but essential Donald Trump sold the pagent to WRE/IMG in 2015 and IMG sold it to JKN Global Group in 2022. Apparently JKN has since sold 50% of the pagent to Mexican based Legacy Holding owned by Raul Rocha.
That is a good news report. I really did not know anything about Mr Harvey’s religious convictions.
I thought about it, and it seemed Mr. Harvey was following the procedure Bob Barker did in his era.
Bob Barker would announce the second placed contestant first before the winner is announced.
From 1984 — This is how the host would do it. Second place isn’t always announced before the winner. Maybe Steve Harvey did the Goodson-Todman host way (remember Family Feud was Goodson-Todman just like The Price Is Right), announce second before first. Harvey being Barker . . .
Both Steve Harvey, Ryan Seacrest and Mario Lopez (Saved By The Bell actor) are way over utilized for show hosting duties on American game shows. The same choices of
Chocolate, Vanilla and Butter Pecan, over and over.
Maybe there are very few younger actors interested in taking their places.
They are over utilized because they are viewed as ‘safe’ and ‘non-controversial’. They don’t drive wedges into the potential audiences and hurt ratings. So long as they remain so, the hosting spots are theirs to keep.
SH will tell the black losing family that they look real good on tv but I have never heard him tell a white losing family the same.
Purchasing Miss Universe got my interests!
A Down payment for A First Date would
Be Harmless I suppose.
Exactly. Good safe and easy to understand hosts. Been that way for generations.
