Eric Swalwell sometimes flies under the radar among members of Congress who operate daily with a double-digit IQ. Often, it's members of the so-called Squad who earn that accolade. They get the spotlight, and rightly so.
But the congressman proves his mettle time and time again, spitting out ideas indicating he's clearly two beers short of a six-pack.
Swalwell, the Democrat Representative who has served California's 14th congressional district, recently announced he was jumping into the Golden State's gubernatorial race. He announced his laughable campaign with the less humorous Jimmy Kimmel because, of course.
Things got infinitely funnier when, speaking with CNN over the weekend, Swalwell offered one of his initial brilliant ideas for the 2026 election. He wants Californians to have the option to vote by phone.

The Dems must have hired a bot farm in China.
Now that is an interesting idea.
I don’t think Americans need voting advice from a Chinese Communist Spy. Take a hike jackass.
I like it - FANTASTIC idea - but that would require a Constitutional Amendment, and they would NEVER get the votes now.
If the gop had their crap together years ago, rather than letting the dems destroy the voting process across the country they'd have passed this when they had the votes.
Another black eye for gop.
Mrs Rktman has come up with a terrific idea. Perhaps exceeding her previous good idea of marrying you sir.
Move election day to your selection on your tax returns, perhaps? That solves many substantive issues, such as citizenship and voter fraud.

So true with so many things. Today’s Democrats are radicals. They have fire in their bellies. They’re thinking revolution. But most of today’s Republicans act like it’s still 1955. Make a few changes around the edges, and that’s it.
It really is exasperating.
When did Americans get too lazy to vote in person?
I like it, but as logi_cal869 points out, it can’t be done without amending the Constitution. What I’d like to see, and I think it would be permissible under the Constitution, would be to redraw Congressional districts in such a way as to minimize the total length of district boundaries within each state while having equal numbers of citizens in each state’s districts, then redraw districts as soon as possible after each ten-year census. That would eliminate the whole gerrymandering mess as far as the House and therefore the Electoral College are concerned.
I have no idea how such a thing could actually be accomplished. Maybe a Constitutional amendment would ultimately be necessary.
The law nicknamed the Motor Voter Law passed with bipartisan support in 1993. Think that’s when the fetishization of voter participation really got rolling, the pressing desire the scoop up every low information simpleton as a voter. Now, the democrats were harvesting the poor and ill-informed before then, but I think that’s when both parties signed onto encouraging imbecile
Voting. And you see where it’s gotten us
Elections American Idol style. 😉
To secure that vote, you make sure any additions or subtractions of counties, or changes of county lines, can only be approved by a 2/3 vote in each house of the legislature.
Don't you have to live there in order to run? He doesn't live there.
IF THIS CAN ONLY BE ACCOMPLISHED BY CELL PHONE-—IT CUTS OUT MANY VOTERS.
HAVE VOTED SINCE 1960.
HAVE NEVER OWNED A CELL PHONE NEVER WILL
How many Dims praise and agree with Salwell’s dumb idea will be a testament to just how dumb his party’s voters are.
One way to rest control of 1-party blue states would be to change the selection/elections for the state legislature assigning two senate seats to each county and chosen by the county government - not using special “election districts”. That would insure the counties as entities would be represented in the legislature and be a break on the Dims one party rule. Unfortunately this great idea - a state constitutional change - would never see the light of day in any blue monopoly state legislature. One could only hope a voter referendum type constitutional change could force it on them.
I agree with that ‘electoral college’ method, using counties. It would certainly be better for the country, at large.
Double digit IQ? You’re giving him way too much credit.
He is the last person who should be in government.
