A man with a 30-year criminal record, reportedly at least 72 arrests, and around 15 convictions, lit a 26-year-old woman on fire on a train in Chicago Monday night. She is fighting for her life in critical condition.
Mayor Brandon Johnson on Thursday called it an “isolated incident.”
The “isolated incident” highlights everything that is wrong with progressive politics and Democrat leadership in all too many of our cities: let the criminals run free, forget about the victims, and vilify the police.
But it only got worse for the Windy City Friday night, as the rampant violence and death the city has become known for continued with multiple shootings and mob mayhem in the city’s iconic Loop District. Multiple teenagers were hit:
At least eight teens were shot, one fatally, and multiple police officers were attacked Friday after a riot broke out in the Chicago Loop, the city's downtown central business district.
Chicago just lit the Christmas tree… and the city lit up with gunfire.
Seven teens shot. Bodies on the pavement. Sirens drowning out Christmas songs. And this is supposed to be “joy to the world.”

This is what happens when a city surrenders its streets to chaos… when leadership treats criminal mobs like “kids just having fun”… when police are told to stand down and let the violence breathe.
Would Johnson also consider this an isolated incident?
The riot, which followed a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, broke out near State and Randolph streets at about 10 p.m. Friday, FOX 32 Chicago reported…
City Alderman Brian Hopkins of Chicago's 2nd Ward said 300 juveniles were rioting and attacking officers with mace and stun guns.
At least one officer was hospitalized with injuries, he confirmed.
At least six children were shot, including a 13-year-old, two 14-year-olds, a 15-year-old, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old.
Less than an hour later, a 14-year-old boy was shot and later died at a hospital. An 18-year-old man was also wounded.
The seemingly never-ending carnage continues in our nation’s third-most populous city despite the angry denunciations of Gov. JB Pritzker and Mayor Johnson, who continue to insist that they’ve got everything under control while they paint President Donald Trump as some sort of wild-eyed fascist for wanting to use federal resources to stop the bloodshed.
Trump was keenly aware of that fact, lambasting them Saturday on social media for enabling further destruction and death:
“Massive crime and rioting in the Chicago Loop area. Multiple Police Officers attacked and badly injured. 300 people rioting, 6 victims shot, one critical and one DEAD… The people are chanting, BRING IN TRUMP!!!” - President Donald J. Trump

Pritzker and Johnson don’t care about the regular people living in fear or the heartbroken families of the slain. Eight more teenagers with bullet wounds, with at least one dead, but they will continue to fight as hard as they can for the status quo and to double down on more of their failed policies.
One can’t help but wonder, is there anything that will wake up the voters in these blue cities and states, or will they just keep pulling the lever for their own demise? Donald Trump proved with his crime crackdown in D.C. that there are solutions to these problems, but far-left politicians and activist judges just keep saying no, we like it the way it is.
Chicago needs federal oversight — not more excuses.
At this point, the corruption is so deep that it’s clear: our neighborhoods will not stabilize without serious federal intervention, independent investigations, and accountability at the highest levels.

The failures of leadership under Brandon Johnson, Governor Pritzker, Toni Preckwinkle, Stacy Davis-Gates, and Jackson Porter have contributed to a breakdown in public safety, financial mismanagement, and policies that are actively harming Chicago’s communities.
Unfortunately, “the way it is” leaves Chicago looking like a third-world cesspool—and now they can add at least one more young life to the body count.
The Governor of Illinois and the Mayor of Chicago are doing their best to help the communist party achieve its goals by destroying the fabric of society.
Sickening!
Why does anyone even bother to work for Chicago PD? No upside but plenty of downside if you do your job too well.
Even almost a hundred years later, everyone remembers the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre in Chicago in which seven people were killed. That’s a typical weekend in Chicago anymore.
Chicongo.
Clearly there is not.
Of course, a great many of those voters are probably dead people or imaginary people. It may be difficult to wake them.
I despise the media.
*Children* implies under teen age.
Perhaps technically, the 13 year old could be considered a *child* but beyond that, not so much. These are not 8 year olds who got shot.
Chicago is a toilet. I don’t see that changing unless you get a conservative running the city. Illinois worse.
Please stop the killing. Don’t these murderers have any families? Is Chicago become a whole city of orphans as a result of the senseless slaughter the left has wrought?
Only when it hits their own families will they ever admit they have a huge problem with crime. It’s so sad to have a mayor and Governor like that.
“Teens”.
The Governor of Illinois and the Mayor of Chicago should be removed from office, but since this incident was a white girl and the perp black nothing will happen, but nothing would have happened either way
It's collateral damage in the war on Trump.
I just had this discussion with my husband last night.
I assume it’s the “Yogi & BooBoo” tribe?
That is what ALL DEMOCRATS DO.....DESTROY GOOD PEOPLE AND GOOD THINS ANF THEY HATE GOD!
Johnson = King of the Morons
C’mon man, there’s no crime in Chicago, sheesh.
You get the government you vote for.
