Some Celebrities Are Finally Getting That We Don't Care What They Think
PJ Media ^ | 19 Nov 2025 | Stephen Kruiser

The Democrats have a long history of being in bed with entertainment industry elites. I don't like to use the word "Hollywood" when writing about the lefties in showbiz, because there are a lot of conservatives working behind the cameras there. Most of the stars, as we are painfully aware, are enthusiastic socialists, mostly because they can afford to be.

This relationship between the Dems and entertainers has given the latter the false impression that they know something about American politics. Some do, but even those who have some activist experience are still out of touch due to the aforementioned wealth. When coupled with enormous egos, this false impression leads to a lot of pontification from the celebs on a variety of issues. They genuinely think that regular people in flyover country are waiting to find out what movie stars think about social security before they vote.

Dem politicians love to cavort with celebrities. It's easier than campaigning or having coherent policy ideas, after all. As the 2016 presidential campaign wound down to its final few days, Donald Trump was tirelessly traversing the swing states. He wrapped it all up in Michigan at around three in the morning on election day. Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, attended a Beyoncé concert in Philadelphia that was being thrown in her honor. Granny Maojackets then rested up for a couple of days for what she was sure was going to be a historic, landslide victory for her.

At this point it should be noted that Hillary would have carried the metropolitan Philadelphia area even without Queen B's help.

Bless their dark, secular hearts, Dems and celebs have been sticking with this playbook despite the diminishing returns since the Obama years...

Somebody posted an article a couple of days ago about movie theaters struggling and why......they came up with every reason BUT holllywood and it’s actors preoccupation with politics.

I do find it interesting though that these actors and entertainers usually keep their yaps shut about their left wing ideology until AFTER they are independently wealthy.

Not all libs can afford to flee the country for europe like two lesbians did.

Most Hollywood celebrities don’t care that we don’t care what they think. Their public statements aren’t meant for us as much as they are meant for each other, to gain acceptance in their idiotic social and financial circles.

It's been a long time coming. I think the Rachel Zegler affair opened a lot of eyes, though, concluding as it did with a broken movie, a toxic promotion, at least a hundred million dollars in losses, and a shattered career. That was only seven months ago as of this writing.

A movie career used to confer a megaphone not available to "ordinary" people, but the advent of social media meant that anyone gets to have one now. That's a leveling that certain older stars haven't quite come to grips with yet. There are, however, some lingering perks associated with the industry, including the ability to shoot coworkers and get off scot-free.

Most of the stars, as we are painfully aware, are enthusiastic socialists, mostly because they can afford to be.

Or with many of them, they can’t afford not to be. There are brutal people in charge of the “ entertainment industry” and for someone on the way up the ladder, they had better toe the line or they will never work in that town again.

But there seems to have been an actual decline in rational thinking. The United States had become a place where entertainers and professional athletes were mistaken for people of importance. They were idolized and treated as leaders; their opinions were sought on everything and they took themselves just as seriously — after all, if an athlete is paid a million or more a year, he knows he is important … so his opinions of foreign affairs and domestic policies must be important, too, even though he proves himself to be both ignorant and subliterate every time he opens his mouth. (Most of his fans were just as ignorant and unlettered; the disease was spreading.) Robert A. Heinlein, To Sail Beyond the Sunset (1987)

Not only do we not care what they think, but if they endorse something I avoid it.

We do. We care so much that we have cut Hollywood from our lives.

a few entertainers or celebrities can make some sense about political or public issue matters

but most of them come across as dumber than teats on a boar

One of the reasons Michael Jordan got so rich as a "Pitch Man" was that he recognized from the outset that, in his own words, "Republicans buy sneakers, too," and kept his private opinions private.

At the root of it, anybody who votes as they do because that's how Ed Begley Jr or Bouncey or Lothario DiCrapio votes is an even BIGGER idiot than Ed Begley Jr or Bouncey or Lothario DiCrapio is.

“I call it treason against rock ‘n’ roll because rock is the antithesis of politics. Rock should never be in bed with politics. ... When I was a kid and my parents started talking about politics, I’d run to my room and put on the Rolling Stones as loud as I could. So when I see all these rock stars up there talking politics, it makes me sick. .... If you’re listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you’re a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we’re morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal.”
