South Africa will investigate the “mysterious” arrival of scores of Palestinians who were kept on a charter plane at Johannesburg for 12 hours by border police because they did not have travel papers, the president has said.
A group of 153 Palestinians arrived at OR Tambo international iarport in Johannesburg on a chartered Global Airways flight from Kenya on Thursday without departure stamps, return tickets or details of accommodation, according to the border authorities.
They said none of the Palestinians had applied for asylum, leading to their initial denial of entry. A pastor who was allowed to meet the passengers while they were stuck on the plane said it was extremely hot and that children were screaming and crying. A humanitarian group intervened to offer accommodation and support and the authorities then cleared 130 members of the group for entry under a standard 90-day visa exemption, while the other 23 had already departed for other destinations. It was not clear where their journey originated. Palestinians in Israeli-blockaded Gaza or the Israeli-occupied West Bank cannot easily go abroad.

And those people can’t tell anyone where they came from, why they came, or how?
Sounds like Palestinians.
Serves them right.
They being the RSA types.
Nobody wants them. Not even the African or Muslim countries do. They tend to have a violent and destablizing effect wherever they go.
All that said, I’m sure being on a hot plane for 12 hours was pretty hellish. But unless they were all kidnapped (right!) at least some of the adults must have known where they were headed to. They must have known they were about to enter another country in an illegal manner.
Palestinian refugees = That Xmas Fruitcake which continues to be rejected by the receiver, then ‘re-gifted’ and has already circled the planet twice.
I would have no problem turning that plane around. Here’s food, water, well even pump out your sewage. Then ……..bye bye.
For nthe past seventy years Muslim countries for political reasons have generally frowned on Palestinians leaving the area or settling in their countries. The result has been three generation of Palestinians living in “refugee camps” in Lebanon, Jordan and Gaza. Israel for obvious reasons would like nothing better if they were to emigrate. Suspect this planeload of Palestinians was organized and paid for by a Christian NGO that is on good terms with Israel. These folks, at some risk to themselves and their families, were willing to leave. The US was no doubt their ultimate destination. They probably had to leave before everything was arranged. That charter flight was expensive. The NGO probably paid and the charter company would either cancel or charge high fees if that plane did not move.
Yep.
...never to be seen again - until they blow something up and commit murder, etc.
When EVERYONE else in the world knows what they are like, isn’t it time for the United States to refuse entry to these mudering thugs and deport ANY AND ALL who remain here???
You folks don’t get it(as expected). Just divide them up all over the 3rd world. Indonesia is stepping up to the plate with their offer to help secure the Gaza. Reward them big-time. Just take the home with them.
That is an invitations for more of them to show up with no papers.
‘mysterious’ arrival of 153 Palestinians on plane.
The mystery is 153 Palestinians, and not one of them blew up the plane!
