US urges Europe to stick to oil and gas, not renewables

Global investments in renewable energy aren't bearing fruit and the world should focus on securing reliable supplies of fossil fuels, U.S. energy and interior secretaries said this week as they worked on convincing Europe to buy more U.S. oil and gas.

The U.S. has become Europe's top oil and gas supplier on the back of the U.S. shale boom and its companies are seeking to boost the share as the European Union moves to fully cut off remaining Russian energy imports.

The message from U.S. officials at an energy conference in Athens this week highlights the shift in U.S. policy under the Trump administration, which has rolled back environmental regulations and touted oil and gas "domination" as a central driver for the U.S. economy and international influence.

"It just hasn’t worked," U.S. energy secretary Chris Wright said of the transition to renewable energy at the conference, where U.S. companies announced deals to supply and drill for gas in Europe.

Wright said on Thursday that he wanted the U.S. to replace "every molecule" of Russian gas that goes into Western Europe.

Anyone remember: “If you MUST cook, cook with gas.

We need to go back to the well-it works.

rolled back environmental regulations
________________

Why call it this way?
It is roll back of hoax regulations, designed to destroy economy and environment!
Can somebody come with better, shorter name?

What really bother me that these “environmental regulations” are really destroying the environment, turning good land into solar cells and windmills disaster areas.

It may be too late for Germany. While France brags about building MORE nuclear power plants, Germany TURNED OFF all of the electricity generated via nuclear power plants. While many tech companies are embracing nuclear power to run their massive data centers and AI, idiots like Germany say ‘oh well.’

Certain energy carriers work best for certain applications. Fairly simple concept.

Trying to use batteries which lack the power density by mass and volume, are temperature sensitive, take a long time to charge, and have a finite cycle life is frankly, stupid.

Trying to cover a nations power demand with renewables which lack power density, are weather dependent, require specific conditions to work best, are maintenance intense, cost a lot per Kw/hr is frankly, stupid.

It’s real simple, at times electric is best, sometimes battery powered electric, other times natural gas, sometimes heavy fuel oil, other times diesel or gasoline, even nuclear.

Government in their infinite wisdom is basically trying to FORCE round pegs into square holes because that’s the flavor of the day (philosophically speaking).

Comment by farmer: “Comrade Stalin, we shouldn’t plow the fields in January, the frozen ground will tear up the plows and we need to plant later anyhow!”

Reply by the bureaucrat: “The central committee and experts in Moscow are following the science, plow the fields.”

Today we try to run things by central committees, may it be electrical power, health care, education, etc.

“Germany TURNED OFF all of the electricity generated via nuclear power plants.”

I think two weeks ago they BLEW UP one of their decommissioned nukes...they literally have an economic DEATH WISH.

It’ll just hurt the Germans for a while because a lot of money was wasted, they pay a lot for power today, and even their competitiveness is impacted by high energy costs. But this can be fixed.

The West’s true “to late” moment is with immigration and the cultural shifts (changes in value systems) that ensue.

France is a prime example. With 12.5% Muslims, and these being highly homogeneous politically, very vocal, organized and even willing to go to the streets, everything from their social, education to foreign affairs and security policies are impacted already today.

You better believe Macron considers the reaction of this demographic in every decision made.

Green energy is the most environmentally destructive form of energy production.

Wind farms look like WWII war zones and they kill birds like crazy and may even kill whales off shore.

The low energy density of solar cells requires huge amounts of land to produce commercial power and they require more energy to manufacture than they produce over a predicted 20 year life span.

As I have said for decades - we will know that policy makers and politicians actually believe that anthropogenic global warming is a real, legit threat and not a pretext to impose a government mandated green agenda when they suddenly push for crash programs to build clean, non CO2 emitting nuclear power plants

Until then, global warming is a hoax that is resulting in the biggest world wide miss allocation of scarce resources since Pharaohs built the pyramids of ancient Egypt.
