A good Wednesday morning to you on this day after the you-know-what. Thanks for stopping by. I admit to being a little over-tired today. I was up until late, backgrounding today's offering.
Yesterday, I was busy enjoying the last few days of fall. Temps in the 50s and most of the leaves are gone now. As it happens, I live in one of the more beautiful areas of New York, near the entrance of Letchworth State Park, known as the Grand Canyon of the East. Here's a look at the Genesee River as it runs through the park. The bridge is a railroad bridge run by Norfolk Southern these days. It's a new one, replacing the old one that stood here for over 100 years. The picture is my own. The lighting in the shot doesn't allow for it to pick up the color of the leaves, which was actually quite striking. Still, I'm pleased with how it came out.
Today in history, back in 2009, Major Malik Hasan opened fire at Fort Hood, Texas, killing some 13 people and injuring 30. It took some time for some to determine a motive. Perhaps more correctly, to admit a motive. On this day in 1943, an Italian aircraft bombed Vatican City. Birthdays include Bryan Adams, Art Garfunkel, and Bob Barr.
Lots to cover, and given the usual size constraints, I won't do more than skim the surface here.
The results are in. Zohran Mamdani, Mikie Sherrill, Abigail Spanberger, Jay Jones, and, out in California, Prop 50 all won their respective races. Not unexpected, but admittedly disappointing. In looking at the quality of the winners, I'm more convinced than ever that if there is ever a true blue wave, they'll all be arriving in one tiny car.

This was a win for America First Republican candidates in the rest of the country as the Dems have been re-aligned as a far left party.
“Democrat Socialists” promise things they can’t possibly deliver and we see the people leaving failing countries are willing to vote for the same style politics they fled.
Ditto the Democrats who will be leaving NYC to mess up other states with their crummy politics. Leftists are stuck on stupid. Doesn’t seem to be a cure.

The Republicans only won House and Senate because Trump was on the ticket. They ran several points behind him. Their approval ratings have always been dismal. Believing your own rhetoric is a mistake both parties always make.
Problem with leftist ideas - once they got implemented, they are almost impossible to get away from them.
The Obamacare destroyed US healthcare system. Yet, it is becoming heartless to do something about it!
Even the COVID “temporally” Obamacare subsidies cannot be taken away anymore!
The problem is the Republicans cannot field the candidates that reflect their electorate. To us, the quality of candidates matter. To them, all they care about is do they support their revolution.

He couldn’t possibly mean everything he said.
A lot of people have predicted a significant exodus from NYC as a result of Mamdani's election. That may very well be true. However, will this be offset by an influx of Muslims - particularly radical Muslims - into the city now that Mamdani has taken power?

It’s not just NYC.
Look at all the Massholes who’ve ruined New Hampshire.
Look at the Californians who’ve ruined Nevada and are well on their way to ruining Arizona.
Look at the Northeasterners who’ve ruined Virginia and are well on their way at ruining North Carolina.
If demographics are truly destiny, this nation is gonna be in some very deep trouble and as much as we admire Donald Trump’s efforts, he has only so many fingers and toes to stick in the dike.
The problem is voters do not see Republicans as America First so far. They have not spoken about what was in the BBB bill.
They have complained for 35 days about Dems. Should have told Schumer we are breaking the filibuster on Day 1. Vote to open or it’s nuked.
