The president argued the state’s redistricting push is a "giant scam" shutting out Republicans.
Trump on Tuesday argued that Proposition 50 represented just the latest effort to curtail Republicans’ power in the state.
“The Unconstitutional Redistricting Vote in California is a GIANT SCAM in that the entire process, in particular the Voting itself, is RIGGED,” Trump said.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but during a press briefing on Tuesday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed that fraudulent ballots were being mailed in with names of “illegal aliens who shouldn’t be voting.”
Now, she said, the White House is considering taking unilateral action to ban mail-in voting.
“The White House is working on an executive order to strengthen our elections in this country and to assure that there cannot be blatant fraud as we’ve sees in California with their universal mail-in voting system,” she said. “Like any executive order, of course any executive order the president signs is within his full executive authority and within the confines of the law.”
California voters are casting their ballots Tuesday on Proposition 50, the Democrats’ mid-decade gerrymandering plan that aims to counter Trump’s push to redraw congressional lines in red states ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
Polling shows that more than half of likely voters plan to support the ballot measure. If the proposition passes, Democrats could gain up to five seats in the House of Representatives.
Trump — and other Republicans — have repeatedly campaigned to eliminate mail-in ballots, though Trump successfully sued Bucks County, Pennsylvania, in 2024, with the court finding that voters were wrongly turned away as they stood in line for mail-in ballots.

Mail in and early voting are shams. They both need to be eradicated.
California ballot envelopes are a violation of the secret ballot principle. It does have a “tear open” window for sealed signature verification. Yet when one opens the envelope to remove the ballot, the printed name, address, and signature are still there allowing one to correlate the personal information with the vote before running the ballot through the counting machine.
The Congress can cede most of the lower-income Democratic areas of California and the southern tip of Texas back to Mexico by majority vote.

California is as useful as it’s DMV 0.
The main purpose of the secret ballot is to make it impractical for people to sell their vote.
Mail-in ballots defeat the main purpose of ballot secrecy.
Mail-in ballots should only be allowed in cases where a person could not otherwise vote.
I believe ballot secrecy is required by international treaty to which the United States is a party.

Ask yourselves, would you vote for a man like Trump by the US system of mail voting if you lived in 2024 Caracas or in 1946 Stalingrad?
Uncle Joe I or Maduro could simply open up mailed back ballots.
What if you lived in an expensive house in Palm Beach, Atlanta or a Philadelphia suburb that might get reassessed?

The US mail voting system does not meet the international law requirements the United States signed up for.
Wasn’t there a hole strategically placed on the envelopes so that the no votes were visible?
I checked that. It was a bogus claim. One would have to have folded the ballot and then carefully position it so that the vote would show in the window. It is possible, but extremely unlikely.
Any idea why there’s a hole there at all?
They’re at two corners of the signature box. So I suspect it has to do with scanning the signature.
