CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police hope surveillance video will help them find three armed robbery suspects.
They held up a 42-year-old man at gunpoint while he was out with a young trick-or-treater on Halloween.
Police said it happened around 3:16 p.m. Friday in the 2600-block of South Emerald Avenue in Chicago's Bridgeport neighborhood.
Video shows a man help a little girl out of the back seat of an SUV as she holds her orange trick-or-treat bucket.
They pair start to walk across the sidewalk when an armed man runs up to them and points his gun at the victim's face. He then hits the victim in the head with the gun.
A second man runs up and begins taking the victim's belongings.
While all this was happening, a third man got into the victim's car.
At least two of the robbers got away in the stolen vehicle, which police say was later found in the Lawndale neighborhood's 300-block of South Maplewood Avenue.

I live about 18 blocks south of there.
In a predominantly White , Irish ,Catholic neighborhood .
Halloween evening the streets were full of trick or treaters, mostly black groups of 5-10 led by women.
They clearly come from other neighborhoods and drive in and canvas the area.
We live in the west suburbs and stories like this is why we are always carrying.

Sad to hear about the Dad and daughter going through this experience. This was at 3.30 in the afternoon, sun still shining. The 3 Thugs must have been lying in wait to ambush a few harmless, well heeled trick or treaters, then speed out to the nearest freeway. This is the biggest reason there are much fewer trick or treaters than 15 years ago.

Halloween defines the dems today: Assuming an identity, going door to door taking from each according to their ability, and/or performing acts of violence for spite is the pure idea of “Trick or Treat!”

The dad looks Asian. There is a gifted and talented school nearby with 77% Asian students.
The scumbags look black. A nearby school where the car was found is low performing even by Chicago standards and has a 90% black student body.
Geez, obviously the youths were just needing a ride back for church service that evening and the dad let them use his car.
Heck, our kids didn’t go door to door 25 years ago. We let them go to the city sponsored little carnival with booths inside the city barn and by tradition, kids would go next door to trick or treat at the nursing home. Of course, first thing an elderly lady stole their bags and refused to give them back so had to be taken to her room. Scared the kids but poor thing was probably scared, too.
