Ukrainian special forces have launched a counter-offensive in Pokrovsk using US-made Black Hawk helicopters.
The goal of the operation was to reopen supply lines in the besieged city, which has held out for more than a year against a Russian offensive but now appears on the brink of capture.
Video provided to The Economist showed a team of 11 soldiers fanning out across a field after climbing down from a Black Hawk helicopter.
Gen Kyrylo Budanov, the Ukrainian intelligence chief, was reported to be personally leading the operation from a nearby location, in a sign of its potential significance.
Russian forces are close to encircling Pokrovsk, according to Deep State maps, with only a 10km gap left through which to bring in supplies and evacuate the wounded.
On Saturday morning, there were fears for the fate of the GUR infiltration team as footage taken by Russian drones purportedly showed a series of strikes in the same area where the men were dropped.
The Telegraph has not been able to verify the footage and Ukrainian military officials have yet to comment on the operation.

These special forces troopers are eleven of the thirteen border guards on Snake Island who refused to surrender to a Russian warship and were all awarded the Order of Twerk by Zylynskyy himself, posthumously.
So, 1) the Telegraph couldn't verify the video from The Economist about "11 soldiers", and 2) "Ukrainian military officials have yet to comment."
Pelsoi's wrap up smear comes to mind as the structure of reporting on other media reporting on that which has not be verified.

I'm happy for you. Since Russia is so inept and powerless, there's no need for our nation to pony up more funds, when the EU can and should fund the war.

According to him, 13 Ukrainian border guards “died heroically” defending an island base against the Russian Navy.
“Russian warship, go f*ck yourself!” were the soldiers’ final words, or so his story went.
The Ukrainian guards ultimately turned up alive as Russian captives.
The entire story of courage under fire, including the Snake Island defenders’ famous last words, was a myth and a lie – Just one more of Zelensky’s fabricated
BS story.
They have become impossible to count.
