Zohran Mamdani is not a serious person. How do we know? Because, with just a few days to go before Election Day, he has not expressed his views on New York City ballot proposals two through four, which strike at the heart of the “affordability crisis” he pretends is central to his campaign.
I say “pretends” because none of Mamdani’s signature campaign proposals, estimated to cost $7 billion per year, will actually reduce the cost of living in New York. He must know that, unless his pricey Bowdoin College education left him appallingly ignorant of how the real world works.
You cannot freeze rents on subsidized housing, as he has said he wants to do, without driving landlords to abandon unprofitable buildings, reducing the housing stock and driving up rents.
You cannot make buses “free” without presumably extending the same benefit to other modes of public transportation and driving the expense through the roof.
You cannot push green energy without seeing electricity costs soar. And you cannot hope to fund all the wonderful freebies with tax hikes on high earners and businesses without then watching many of them exit the city.
Mamdani’s platform is absurd, and every grown-up in New York knows it. But it is dispiriting that, when proposals are put before voters that actually might move the needle on bringing rents down, Mamdani does not leap aboard.

Mamdani is the stereotype Democrat in 2025. There are no moderate dems. If there were, Schumer Shutdown would not be happening.
They can write all of these articles that they want. He’s getting elected. Cuomo and Sliwa have not remotely closed the deal or caught the imagination of voters. Mamdani has, even if he’s selling snake oil. New York City has an incredible affordability problem that Mamdani is promising to solve with free stuff paid for by “the rich.” Cuomo and Sliwa just go back to tired old talking points to counter him. Cuomo has executive experience? In every election in my lifetime, the candidate who tries to run on executive experience and claiming the other guy isn’t tested loses in a landslide.
Well if there’s any good news, it might be that we will all get a front row seat to failures of his policies. Check back in four years when he’s running for reelection on all of his alleged achievements.
Other good news is that people speculate about his political future. It’s good to know he can never run for president.
Mamdani’s real platform on winning is to make NYC forever an Iranian muslim city. All else is just to get votes.
Deerborn is a Sunni city, NYC is soon to become an Iranian Shia 12er city.

Sliwa isn’t nothing, but NYC voters are too stupid to pick the best of the three.

Islam is a syncretic tribal system of government. Not so much religion as a means of rule. Just as the Moslems backed Hitler, they would also back Stalin. After the religious purges, Stalin allow a stated sanctioned Islam and their believers to fight in WWII.
