Lincoln City man arrested after 3-hour standoff in the ocean

The standoff lasted approximately three hours, authorities said, with Reynolds swimming in the Siletz Bay, briefly churning into the Pacific Ocean, and refusing authorities’ requests to exit the water.

During the standoff, police said Reynolds pulled away from authorities and at times swam underneath patrol boats to avoid arrest.

My family lives out there. I’ve eaten many times at the MO’s. I use to surf there when visiting. That is some frigid water. NO WAY he survived three hours in that water without a thick wetsuit. I have a feeling they included a lot more time out of the water than in. Urinalists and their fabulist headlines.

The Pacific is bone chilling cold at this time. Spending three hours in that water should have brought on hypothermia and death.
