This week, Congress pushed our nation into the fourth week of a full government shutdown – an avoidable crisis that is harming families, communities, and the very institutions that hold our country together.
As president of the American Federation of Government Employees, I represent over 800,000 federal and D.C. government workers...
The Army nurse in San Antonio, the TSA officer in Atlanta, the USDA food safety inspector in Iowa, and hundreds of thousands more like them are being asked to keep our country running without the paychecks that keep their own households afloat.
The path forward for Congress is clear:
Reopen the government immediately under a clean continuing resolution that allows continued debate on larger issues.

If Schumer can’t bring this to an end, in 31 days Trump start permanently cutting bloat
DemonicRATS in Congress pushed our nation into the fourth week of a full government shutdown –
There. Fixedit.
Dumping the ridiculously, stupid filibuster would be better.
Dumping the ridiculously stupid filibuster would be better.
It’s not his preferred approach, but I really wish Trump would go on national TV from the Oval Office and explain how he’d love to open the government back up, but the Democrats have voted down the plans he and the Republicans have put forward THIRTEEN FREAKING TIMES.
Maybe it would get the truth through some thick skulls.
"Food banks? Nah, Congress is eating pretty good at 5-star restaurants."
Yep, state it clearly that the Dems will not open government.
I bet that the legacy media does not publish or air this.
Not if you get rid of the filibuster on spending bills. Its time to do that and stop crying about how your hands are tied.
At all.

No, it’s time to hold the line and STOP, for a refreshing change, allowing the radleft Democrats hold American taxpayers hostage to their leftist agenda and partisan politics stunts like this current shutdown. Ending the filibuster is exactly what (or one thing) the radleft wants to happen. Hell to the NO on that.
We will invent Fusion Energy before we cut Federal spending.

And as a fiscal Conservative, to that I say...
“Cut, baby, CUT!!!”
and... go ahead, Demrats...
“Make our day!”
The Head of The Union is getting very nervous and the Schumer Shutdown.
Imagine what the public employee unions are facing - whether this prolonged shutdown causes the general populace to notice it’s not so bad, the implication of which is that a lot of Federal government functions are not necessary, or they face the ultimate impact of AI on employment. And there is no better example of repetitive make-work that AI will mow down than a federal bureaucrat. Good luck in the future!

Yeah, I’m having trouble giving a damn at this point about what they are ‘facing’. I’d much prefer to imagine how much LESS American taxpayers would be paying and getting screwed over by the Democrats if the Federal Government was much less bloated with useless federal “workers” whose salaries taxpayers have been forced to subsidize.
Think of it this way, if you will. The left is always bitching against corporations and fatcat CEOs (a bloated fedgov’s competition). If there are less jobs in the bloated fedgov, these leftists will be forced, finally and about time, to support the corporations which provide more jobs FOR Americans (replacing the jobs previously held by gov employees). Novel concept, eh? The US economy would be thriving for a refreshing change. That’s just part of what Trump is trying to achieve (go Trump).
It has been proven the shutdown is not hurting us. If Dems push us past the food stamp cliff Republicans should no longer offer “clean” spending extensions. Every day the rats hold out add another provision. Start with spending cuts and as we get closer to d-day start adding in policy like the end of the DoEd. If we can get them to keep the shutdown going Trump can really take a broadsword to their corruption systems.

That’s my thought as well - that the left threatened to get rid of it, and didn’t. Now, the left wants US to get rid of the filibuster, and I’m hoping we don’t.
