Schwarzenegger Drops a Truth Bomb on Jake Tapper on Gerrymandering
PJ Media ^ | 10/26/25 | Matt Margolis

Sometimes the truth doesn’t just contradict the narrative—it obliterates it entirely. When the liberal media sets up a segment to indict the Republican Party over an issue, the last thing they expect is for their guest to flip the script with bipartisan accountability. When Jake Tapper tried to make Republican redistricting the villain in America's gerrymandering crisis during Sunday's State of the Union, Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn't having it. The former California governor delivered a masterclass in bipartisan reality that left CNN's host scrambling to change topics.

Tapper opened by framing the Texas redistricting debate as Trump "cooking the books" to prevent Democrats from retaking the House in upcoming midterms. He asked whether Schwarzenegger believed "the Republican Party is starting this."

The Governator's response was immediate and unequivocal: "No, Jake, there has been gerrymandering going on for 200 years."

What followed was a data-driven takedown of the narrative that gerrymandering is solely a Republican problem. Schwarzenegger pointed to Massachusetts, where approximately 40% of voters supported Trump, yet the state sends zero Republicans to the House of Representatives. He then cited New Mexico, where 45% voted Republican, but again—zero GOP representatives made it to Congress

Huh? Is this the same Arnold who said "screw your freedom" during covid.

You can never tell with Arnold. There are times when he sounds like a RINO. Then there are times when he calls Obamacare a ripoff, or interviews like this. In fact, there have been a couple interviews with him recently where he hit the Dems hard.

People aren’t completely digital - good or bad, all the time, forever. People make mistakes, learn, and choose to change or not change.

I think Schwarznegger is in large measure a pragmatic idealist - thinking rationally about a lot of things but being conciliatory to opposing forces in order to bring about some sort of consensus.

He had to learn the hard way that sort of ‘consensus’ idealism is nonsense in the real world.

Schwarzenegger is like Bill Maher except that he's a Republican.

They both have "* U" money.

Maybe he’s coming to his senses now that he doesn’t have Maria whispering in his ear about politics after the divorce.

True that. Also, keep in mind that Arnold is the last Republican governor of California, with the Dims winning the election 4 times since then (not counting the recount against Newsom). So to Arnold, the gerrymandering by the Dims may be a bit personal.

Covid was a brand new lab created virus. I can’t blame Arnold erring on the side of caution. No one had built in immunity to covid, and lots of Americans were dying from covid, especially the seniors with co-morbidity issues.

Arnold has been saying a lot of this kind of stuff lately. I wonder if he has been talking to his old friend and Conan the Barbarian writer/director John Milius again. Milius is a rock-solid conservative.

. . .lots of Americans were dying from covid

There was a little factoid graphic, in - of all places - USA Today that showed the number of deaths from various diseases in the US. In a typical year, there were on the order of 100,000 deaths from "the flu" (whatever flavor was in favor that year). It was as high as 300,000 a year with "ordinary" bad flu.

It was also a meme about how *every* death of someone during that time was blamed on Covid. I have relatives who word in the medical field and there were absolute financial incentives to declare that Covid was the cause of death if there was even the slightest trace of Covid in the patient.

So the basic question is: Do we give up essential liberties in order to obtain a little - temporary - security? I think "We, the People" answered that question a long time ago. It's shame so many have forgotten.

Even me, who avoids all vaccines, was scared of covid from reading all the fear mongering in media. I volunteered for the jabs on advice of my wife’s oncologist. She was diagnosed with stage-4 cancer of lungs spread to brain. For her sake we both got the jabs. Luckily there were no bad side effects. My wife went on to live 6 years after stage-4 diagnosis, which is rare. Most stage-4 patients don’t survive 3 years after diagnosis.

Whatis not so hard to believe is that the legacy media still can’t tell the truth.

Like when dim politicians bailed to Illinois one of the most gerrymandered states in the union

Would be nice to redistrict all these dim states

That’s the official narrative and it’s all nonsense.
Covid was a mild flu, with low mortality rate.
There is no need of “immunity” to it since most WELL KNOWN treatments against coronavirus work (hydroxychloroquine and ivermectins and even most anti-asthmatic treatments that avoid cytokin storms are known for their efficacy long before 2020).
Lots of Americans were killed not by covid but by the stupid measures taken by the governement, quarantines, ventilators, remdesivir, the experimental injection... We know it by comparing the mortality rate in the US to other countries where no mandate was taken.

We had on FR a lot of “experts” pushing for those stupid mandates and for the vaxx. Where are they now when the release of the latest covid variant vaxx is announced?
