The push to separate Alberta from the rest of Canada got a big boost this weekend. Thousands turned out for a rally in Edmonton to raise awareness of the movement and a referendum question that would ask citizens if Alberta should be a sovereign country. Sam Samson spoke with some who would vote yes and why.

I would accept the Alberta independence movement if they also wanted to take over the heavily CCP infected province of British Columbia. Otherwise, Conservative Alberta would be landlocked between two Leftist parts of Canada.
Ottawa would have Nunavut....................
Ottawa would have Nunavut....................
As it might be Texas or California separating from Mexico?
They could have an open border with Montana...call it Montanalberta....
Or Albertana...
Oh, you did.
I would accept a free trade agreement that ended all tariffs either way between the U.S. and Canada, provided it excluded either country from being a “put the parts together” factory base for essentially China-made industrial goods.
I hear in some comments made here today, on another thread, that that is what some Canadian industries have become - assembly plants for goods made from parts from China.
This should be interesting…I’m taking the kids to Calgary next summer; wonder if people are talking about this very much?
No! We want Nunavut too!
The absolute no go would be, if the Dominion actually dissolves, admitting all the provinces. It would skew the Electoral College into Socialist Hell for a hundred years.
Ontario should be independent. Then Quebec.

Canada as we know it, stopped being a country a while ago.
No, to Canada!
Maybe yes to Alberta and some of the territories.
No MORE!
Do it!
Brave AI drivel: "Calgary's population is increasingly diverse. As of 2025, 30.1% of residents are from a visible minority, with the largest groups being South Asians (7.5%), Chinese (6.8%), and Filipinos (4.4%). The largest ethnic group is White at 67.3%, though this proportion has been declining due to immigration from non-European nations. Indigenous peoples comprised 2.7% of the population. The city's population has grown significantly, reaching an estimated 1.6 million in 2024, a 6.14% increase from the previous year, and 1.688 million in 2025, reflecting a 1.38% rise from 2024."
And
"Religious affiliations in Calgary include Christianity (44.5%), No Religion (38.7%), Islam (7.4%), Sikhism (3.8%), Hinduism (2.6%), Buddhism (1.6%), Judaism (0.5%), and Aboriginal Spirituality (0.1%).
The most commonly reported mother tongue languages are English, followed by Punjabi, Tagalog, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish"
The Canadians are um...leaving the room
I left Alberta for my ranch in BC. Minus the Fraser valley it’s a very conservative place chock full of resources. Alberta is going? So are we.
Alberta free to fully develop its own resources without being shackled by Gaia Worship and Ottawa siphoning off money for socialism in other provinces would be far richer than it is now. That would be true whether they choose to be an independent country or a state.
That Map of the West would be fine but we would need to carve greater Vancouver out. We don’t want that part.
Hell, I’d gladly trade New England for Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and non Vancouver BC.
Alberta would not go alone. Saskatchewan and Manitoba would soon join it.
After that, Quebec would go its own way.
Then there’s nothing left of the British-Davos colony in North America.
